TulaneLSU’s top 72 bread varieties
Most people are guilty of living their lives without analyzing them. I too am guilty of this sloth. We can go about day to day without taking account the many details in our lives that give them color and texture. If we can so easily miss the small and easy things, consider how we miss the big, deep things that are challenging, take time, and are painful to consider.

Today we shall focus on a small detail of life: bread. Bread is a great gift. It has nourished and allowed many billions to live. How the first person came to make it must have been nothing short a divine revelation. Bread is a living thing and it plays a pivotal role in the Bible, especially as we enter the Gospels where the Bread of Life is revealed. Each day I start with the prayer panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie — give us, for I pray for each of you not just myself, this day our daily bread. Bread is more than just physical sustenance.

Let us now contemplate bread’s role (pass on the pun) in our daily lives. One way I do such contemplations is ranking. It is not the only way to contemplate. One may also sit quietly and drop into memories about specific breads or a certain memory of a bread. I simply ask that you take account. Remember how bread has impacted your life, and if so compelled, say a prayer of gratitude for that time or nourishment.

My top breads:

With as much free time to post as you’ve been given during your residency, I’d question the quality and rigor of your program.

I know you’re a homer for Chicago deep dish, but there’s no reason to be puerile in your insults.

Thanks Kosmo. You are a wonderful editor and we are blessed to have you here. These new iPhone postings are really setting me back.

TL;DR

Does it give you pleasure to write novels that 99.9% of posters aren't going to read?

Liege waffles are way better than Belgian (Brussels) waffles.

re: TulaneLSU’s top 72 bread varieties
I enjoy contemplating, writing and prayer. If people want to read, let them. If they don’t, it doesn’t hurt me or make me feel less.

I recently rewatched the greatest film ever made The Tree of Life. Near the beginning is a great thought:

quote:

The nuns taught us there are two ways through life, the way of Nature and the way of Grace. You have to choose which one you'll follow. Grace doesn't try to please itself. Accepts being slighted, forgotten, disliked. Accepts insults and injuries. Nature only wants to please itself. Get others to please it too. Likes to lord it over them. To have its own way. It finds reasons to be unhappy when all the world is shining around it. And love is smiling through all things.

Contemplate that thought.

Cornbread at 69 and the topic of transubstantiation will raise the ardor of this place in a hurry.

Can you provide an assessment of the various communion bread offerings from churches in the New Orleans metropolitan area?

If you’ve ever had a really good New York bagel from a place like Russ and Daughters that would be in your top 5. I agree with your number 2 and 3 though.

You didn’t even list sourdough. There are many types of sourdough as well.
