So I'm 50. I have no issue day to day conversations for work or at home. But when I get in situations like restaurants or an event with music playing in background I can't hear shite.

I bought a pair of the so called best OTC hearing aids just for these events. One question I have is with expensive hearing aids does everything sound as artificial as it does with these OTC aids? im trying to get used to them but man. It seems like only the high pitched noises are amplified.

I mean the work, but shite, unlocking the door with a key shouldn't sound like I'm inside the door knob. The Styrofoam Canes boxes rubbing together was driving me nuts on the way home.
