I own an airbnb right across the street from the beach in Venice. We are at about $150 to $200/night in season. Maybe look at some other places?
Incarcerate them for long periods of time. I guarantee petty theft drops dramatically.

A tip we got rather late in our trip was to offer to pay in US cash
If you bring $100 bills, they have people who will come meet you and do the exchange for you. One of my good friends is from BA. That's the best way to get the best exchange rate. $100 bills are gold over there.
Pretty wild

Cool thread. We are looking at buying hunting property also. What acreage are you looking to buy?
El Calafate/El Chalten were incredible. OP needs to go

frick, no. Airbnbs are not worth the hassle money-wise. We make slightly more than if we had it as an LTR.

you're "not including" the cleaning price in the rental price, because you want to gain the business with a "rental rate" that is "lower" because you're hiding the cleaning cost till later.
Have you ever booked an airbnb before? The cleaning fee shows up when you go to book the unit. Or you can pick the option that shows the nightly rate that includes all of the additional fees/costs.
I'm beginning to think you're just an idiot. Go to airbnb, pick a random city with random dates. Let me know if the cleaning fee is hidden. Hint: it is not.

I have stated multiple times in here that we do not ask guests to clean up before they leave. Our only ask if that they put the trash can at the curb. We don't even penalize guests for not doing that if they don't.
However, if you don't clean up after yourself either in a hotel or an airbnb, then you have minimal consideration for other people and are likely a slob. Like our pal Odysseus who would leave his hotel room or airbnb with a sink full of dishes. That is a dick move. Entitlement, that is the entire point of the thread.

My cleaners are actually all white, hard working people. I'm glad I can help support them and their family. Those people bust their arse. Without airbnb, their business would likely not exist. I also make no money on the cleaning fee. We often lose money on it.

The hypothetical Sam Walton has created a generation of entitled pussies. Take out your fricking garbage. It takes minimal effort.

Here's one booking we had today:
$1,100 total paid by the guest. They are booking a 2/1.5 house with a pool. The cleaning fee is $120 and is included in the $1,100. They have three guests, a child, and a pet. Their stay is six nights. We will make about $750 on the booking after airbnb fees/cleaning fees.
Guest is paying less than $200/night for three adults, a child, and a pet. They have a living room, outdoor patio, fenced in backyard, dining room, and a full kitchen.
How in the world is that not better than a hotel? You can't even book a decent hotel in my area for less than $200/night. And that is only for one room.

We have a house here in Italy. Garbage is a nightmare. There are four categories in the city where our house is. If you don't follow it then it is a huge PIA. They won't pick up the garbage, etc. I hate it, but it is what it is

The amount of rooms they clean doesn't matter. The point is that if you're booking a hotel or an Airbnb, the Airbnb is often much, much larger. Paying a cleaning fee makes sense. I don't agree with Airbnb hosts that charge large amounts to make money on the cleaning fee. We charge what our cleaners charge us, sometimes less actually.
For example, we have a 1500 sqft 3 bedroom, two bath pool house. We charge $130 for the cleaning fee and we pay the cleaners $160. Is that unreasonable?

Argentina is great. We went to Patagonia. Even if you aren't a hiker, it is incredible. I highly recommend going.
BA is just every other major world city. Great food, great people, and a great time.

If you book a hotel that has a kitchen and you leave your hotel with a sink full of dishes, you're just a douche. Same goes for an Airbnb. We don't ask guests to clean dishes, and we charge a small cleaning fee, but leaving a hotel or Airbnb with a sink full of dishes is just a dick move.
Also, cleaning a 300 sqft hotel room is a hell of a lot different than cleaning a 2000 sqft home with three bedrooms.

Airbnbs are not hotels. If people want hotels, they should book hotels. We provide enough supplies to last a week. If that isn't enough, they should go purchase their own.
I almost never stay at hotels, even if an Airbnb is a bit more expensive. I love being able to stay in any part of a city, have multiple beds, and have a kitchen.

One older white lady today demanded our cleaners send them four more rolls of toilet paper today. They are renting a one bathroom unit for three more days and there are three people total staying there. Who the hell goes through that much toilet paper
