The Odyssey

Greece is not a big movie market. What does this have to do with anything?

Not even going to bother with this obvious gaslighting.
Oppenheimer got 975 million? And Odyssey has twice the pre-sale tickets. Don’t know how it will translate globally, especially with no premier in Greece… I’m sitting this one out obviously. Putting my money into things that I want to see more of, like Spider-Man, maybe Dune, Young Washington

*Wow, sure are some nob sucking Nolan bros here ready with a DV for absolutely zero reason.
Right. NEW Passion of the Christ which no one is talking about in an Odyssey thread for a movie that opens in 10 days.

Stop with the red herring nonsense and stick to the issue.

Damn, she's really good!

Folks, I think we're underselling Ms Owens. She makes a compelling point.
Translation: Trump refuses to be an easy target so we'll make up shite just to make him look bad.
I deal mostly in logic, very well, actually. Point to what I said which you think is in accurate?

quote:

the studio didn't cancel anything they never scheduled them which is a big difference

Thought that's pretty much exactly what I said, but go on.

quote:

The same idiots here stomping their feet better be getting upset over the white washed cast the new Passion of the Christ movie

What are you even talking about? First, that was from 2004. Before the wokeification of Hollywood. Second, it was done in Aramaic, Hebrew and Latin, holding true to the historical authenticity. Nolan is tossing ALL of that to the wind, for a modern, feminist version.

And it's laughable for anyone to call it 'white washing' when talking about the race and gender swaps going on in The Odyssey. Please.
:dunno:

We know a few things. The last trailer got ratio'd to almost Snow White levels, there are strong IMAX presales, and the actors simply will NOT shut up about how superior Nolan is to Homer. It's insufferable.

I can already tell it's a bad movie, yes, without seeing it. It may be shot beautifully, well acted but the cast choices are absurd.

Also, there's no Greece premier.

Tells me all I need to know.
I wasn't sure if it was the covid hoax or the 2020 was a totally fair election hoax.

FOX played ball, I get it. Don't go against the machine.
Lots of folks saw the latest Jurassic World and Avatar movies, but few can tell you about what they actually saw. Even Oppenheimer got a lot of tickets sold, but few folks went back again. I think it's fair to say we could see something similar with The Odyssey.
Full on thievery.

You DVers know damn well Trump laying a finger on that crazy skank was nothing but her delusional head canon. It never happened.
Industry shills are more controllable & carry more weight within the industry. Which is who this movie is for, more than anything. Hence the ridiculous casting choices.

Is it untrue or did they just decide to go with legacy media shills instead of “influencers“?

Either way the fact that there is no screening in Greece should send a red flag up for everyone to see.
The % of retarded or drugged out in one group is insanely over represented.
Spider-Man is tracking very well from what I’ve heard.

Bad hero movies are the problem.
Somehow… Palpatine returned will forever be high cringe .

Star Wars is dead.
