I think it's a big FU to the USOC. Sweden pays Greg Duplantis to be his coach, which the USOC wouldn't.
Mondo as the world champion doesn't have to mess around with Olympic trials in Sweden unlike in the US.
Then he makes a lot of money pole vaulting in Europe and has a smoking hot Swedish girlfriend to boot.
