That is a wonderful tribute to a man and coach I knew long ago when he recruited players I coached for LSU. He will be well remembered for the man and coach he was to many young men. One thing left out of this tribute is that he was a wonderful singer long ago! RIP my friend...

Guess I'm really an old timer... my first game in Tiger Stadium was in 1955...Tigers lost to Georgia Tech and Bobby Dodd that night, 7-0... I still remember sitting in the upper deck south end of the stadium and a nip and tuck game of running the football on both sides, with it being a defensive struggle all game
Michael Green from Destrehan and Paul Thompson from Peabody would both have fit in well...
Definitely looks like internal problems with the program under Beth!
Maybe she can learn how to recruit from them Lady Bulldogs next door in Starkville... and stop having the same ole Bethball that does just enough to have winning seasons but never show advancement...
Just one more game left...
Good Ole travel ball fundamentals!
Back in my day we called him a quitter...
Typical of the "head cases" on the entire pitching staff this season. They all, with what looks like a couple exceptions, don't have a mental togetherness or toughness to be winners.
Individual laurels are always indicative of team success and laurels.
Bethball comes through! Can they make the next step????

I said early in the season that JJ had created a whole lot of mental anxiety with this staff... seems like none of them knew their role on the team, never knew if JJ's quick hook would get them, if they would be pulled after pitching to 1-2 batters, etc. Sure, there were a couple injuries, and unfortunately, no one had the will to step up, simply because they weren't mentally ready. Take it from an old coach... The mental aspect of playing any sport plays a big part in the physical aspect.

Last 3 innings...

Fla has 3 runs on 0 hits... but 9 walks! This pitching staff is ______ (fill in the blank)

How about... DISGUSTING!
Is a pathetic embarrassment to LSU this season. Lack the quality of what is expected of players and coaches wearing LSU Tigers across the uniform chest.

Probably better players would help the situation!
Better recruit some SEC caliber players! Coaches ain't the problem!
This entire staff sucks pretty bad... totally not SEC caliber... poor evaluation and poor recruiting by JJ and staff. These guys might throw hard, in the 90's, but there's no movement on the pitches and they seem to have no pitches other than meatball fastballs!

And he wears #8... what a joke! Fizzled horribly after missing a year!
