wtf is the purpose for a qr code sticker to put on you vehicle if all it contains is the vin. Like what’s the purpose.

Exactly….your vehicle already has a barcode of the VIN built into the dash. It is built into the dash on the driver’s side and is visible through the windshield.

so basically they are saying frick the shops that sell the current inspection but we still want our cut for a piece of paper that does nothing. nice.

They could have just stacked that extra 12 dollars to registration fees and not messed with a QR code. There is already a state ID on the car, a license plate.

It wouldn’t fix the Baton Rouge area parishes that are stuck with emissions testing unless the new EPA can drop them.

You're in luck it seems.

enforcement officer shall issue citations to any motor vehicle for failing to produce or
display a certificate of inspection

shite...I didn't know this was coming and got a new one today. Oh well, at least I did get a new one. I'm sure they'll be writing the hell out of expired inspection sticker tickets while they can.

So instead of paying to have our cars inspected we’re just paying to pay. And losing jobs in the state (albeit not many) but gaining more surveillance.

These will be much quicker for the police to scan at check points.

Scan for what? I still don’t get what the QR code is for.

Exactly. It’s hilarious. So now less safe cars on the road and we still pay.

Yay!

It’s to get $10 out of your arse every year for every vehicle you own.

Wonder if this applies in the five parishes where we still have to have the emissions test sticker

Yet it leaves out 6 of the 9 “cancer alley” parishes

And wF and Livingston aren’t in cancer alley

The QR code sticker serves the same purpose as the old inspection sticker did… to separate you from $6. All the did was cut out the middleman.

Cmon, did anybody really believe the state of Louisiana was going to just walk away from all that revenue generated by inspection stickers??

The sticker is connected to vehicle registration.
You can't get the sticker if your vehicle isn't registered.
You can't get vehicle registration if you don't have auto insurance.

Mine is currently beyond expired. Wonder if they're gonna use the next 6 weeks to set up a checkpoint at every corner
