It's so funny to me that this wasn't ever even a hint of consideration just 2 years ago,

That was different with a 4 team playoff... 12 teams is much more forgiving.
But, their performance needs to be considered when making the selection.

Unfortunately, Alabama's performance did them in, not the loss.

I really was hoping to see 5 SEC teams in it.

re: LSU fans please explain.

We ranked 5th in red zone defense.

We ranked 124th in red zone offense.

Had you sat through 12 games like that, you'd be pretty excited too.
Make it further away so chest pass won't reach and a bigger hole so percentage of makes stays the same. Problem solved.

Yes, it's hard to tell fact from garbage on here.
Based on how tolerable, accurate, entertaining, connected and knowledgeable they are.

Some to consider are: Hess, Hanny, Ott, Dandy Don, Chicken, Scarborough, etc.

After the last few weeks, I need to find some new and better sources.
He made it obvious, he was leaving to Florida before LSU got involved.
I agree. They're no sure things in coaching. I'd prefer a huge bonus for success and a short contract. We wouldn't get a household name, but I willing to chance an up and coming coach that can be replaced with no major buyout.

Congratulations Aggies!!!

You won't be going 8&4!

Cliff note summary: BK gaslite ND fanbase for 12 years and kudos to LSU for recognizing it in 3.5 years and getting rid of him.
Please select the high margin items.

Go Tigers.

Even Sunbelt Billy just got paid $21 million to walk away. ?

That's why I said type. In other words, an up and coming coach, not a proven coach at the highest level. A shark, not a whale. 21M in this case is a whole easier to manage than 53M!

And probably hire the next Sunbelt Billy or Butch Jones

A Sunbelt Billy or Butch Jones type with little to no buyout puts your program in a much better position than a BK with a huge buyout. Yes, the wrong person may be hired, but better to do it in a way that you are faced with having to keep them on when you know they can't win or pay 10s of millions of dollars for them to go away.

So you expect a coach to leave a job with a guaranteed buyout to take a job without one?

No. Those are mostly past era coaches. We want up and coming coaches that are showing signs that they can move fast to turn a program around. Look to smaller schools with recent success not another whale.
Pre NIL and a wide open transfer portal, you needed to lock a coach up for 4+ years to build a program and offer stability to recruits who planned on being with the program through thick and thin. Then the coaches' contracts were further extended every couple of years to continue to offer stability to new recruits.

Those days are gone. The right coach can turn a program around in 1 or 2 years. We need to start treating the head coach like a commodity. No long term buyout, get it done in 1 to 2 years or we move on to the next coach. Put our resources towards NIL to solve talent and recruiting deficiencies.
Behind the end zone. This needs to be addressed immediately.
