Fun Jerry Rice longevity stats:

From age 37 to 42, Jerry Rice had 5283 yards and 33 TDs

The Chicago Bears all-time leading receiver is Johnny Morris who had 5059 yards and 31 TDs in his career

Most receiving yards after turning 40:
Jerry Rice 2509
Tom Brady 6
Mercedes Lewis 2
Everyone Else 0
Brett Favre -2
Aaron Rodgers -9

Jerry had 12,274 yards after turning 30...That is more than Calvin Johnson's entire career.
mine strangely enough is the Yankees.

I've only been to 10 MLB games in my life.

1 was in Yankee stadium so I'll remove that one.

I saw the Yankees play in Toronto, Seattle, Baltimore, and Los Angeles without consulting the schedules prior to my trips.
the 2 years after Lamar left New Orleans:

2000:
309 attempts (9th)
1139 yards (17th)
3.7 ypc (24th among qualified)
14 TDs (4th)
75.9 ypg (13th)

Ricky had 248 carries for 1000 yards and 8 TDs in 10 games (4.0 ypc and an even 100 ypg)

2001:
313 attempts (7th)
968 yards (16th)
3.1 ypc (40th)
6 TDs (16th)
60.5 ypg (19th)

Ricky had 313 carries for 1245 yards and 6 TDs. (4.0 ypc and 77.8 ypg)

In no world does Lamar Smith even come close to Ricky Williams or Deuce McAllister as an NFL back.

quote:

He even made NFL player of the year while at Miami.

WHAT? Are we talking about different players?

Lamar never even made a pro bowl. He finished 5th in comeback player of the year in 2000 (won by New Orleans Joe Johnson).

Is that player of the year now?

He has never even received a single MVP or Offensive player of the year vote in his career and never finished top 10 in pro bowl voting that I can see. Yeah, he had career years in Miami...but his career was as a mid-tier RB AT BEST

I would put Don Nelson and D'Antoni in that company just for how ahead of the game they were.

Run TMC Warriors under Nelson and the Nash led Suns under D'Antoni were so different than the rest of the league at their times.

I remember every one said this about Saints Great RB Lamar Smith.

dude had no vision at all and was scared to take hits. Played behind 3 great OLs in his career (Seattle with Kevin Mawae and Walter Jones, New Orleans with Roaf and Turley, and Miami with Ruddy Nails and Perry) and yet struggled to even surpass 3.6 yards per carry.

I mean Smith was so good in New Orleans that we sold the farm for Ricky Williams...then was so good in Miami that they gave up 2 firsts for Ricky Williams.
Passing Yards: 89,214 by Tom Brady
-highest active players: 5th Aaron Rodgers (42) with 66274. 6th Stafford (38) with 64516.
-The most likely guys to come close would be Mahomes, Goff or Allen but They all have around 1/3rd of Brady's total.

Passing TDs: 649 by Tom Brady
-highest active: 4th Aaron Rodgers (42) has 527
Matt Stafford (38) is 7th all-time and has 423. He would need 227 TDs to break the record.
-most likely challengers: Mahomes (30) has 267 but his TD numbers have fallen off a cliff the last 3 years.
Goff (31) has 256 TDs. If he averaged 30 a year, he would need to play 13 more years to break the record.

Interceptions Thrown: 336 by Brett Favre
-highest active player: Philip Rivers (44) with 212. Matt Stafford (38) with 196.
Safe to say that this record ain't being broken. Brees finished 90 Ints short, Brady finished 124 INTs short.

Rushing Yards: 18355 by Emmitt Smith
-highest active player: Derrick Henry (32) is in 10th place with 13,018. He needs 1900 yards to crack the top 5. He needs 5,338 yards for #1

Rushing TDs: 164 by Emmitt Smith
-highest active player: Derrick Henry (32) is 4th all-time with 122. He needs 43 TDs for #1.

Receptions: 1549 by Jerry Rice
-highest active player: Travis Kelce (36) is 8th with 1080. He needs 22 receptions to become 5th all-time.
most likely to challenge the record:
Amon-Ra St. Brown (26) has 547 in 5 years.
Jamarr Chase (26) has 520 in 5 years.
Justin Jefferson (26) has 579 in 6 years.

Receiving Yards: 22895 by Jerry Rice
highest active player: DeAndre Hopkins (33) is 18th with 13295.
most likely challengers:
Justin Jefferson (26) has 8480 yards in 6 years.
CeeDee Lamb (27) has 7416 yards in 6 years.
Jamarr Chase (26) has 6837 yards in 5 years
Puka Nakua (25) had 4191 yards in 3 years.

Total TDs: 208 by Jerry Rice
highest active player: Derrick Henry (32) is 10th all-time with 127. He needs 19 more for 5th all-time.

Sacks: 200 by Bruce Smith
-highest active players*: Von Miller (37) is 9th with 138.5. Cam Jordan (36) is 17th with 132. Cam needs 6.5 to be top 10.
Most likely challenger:
Myle Garrett (30) is 20th all-time with 125.5 sacks. He needs 7 sacks to be 15th. 13 sacks to be 10th all-time. 25 for top 5 but needs a whopping 75 to break the record.

Combined Tackles: 2059 by Ray Lewis
-highest active player: 3rd Bobby Wagner (35) with 2000. Wagner had 162 tackles last year so if he gets signed this year, he will probably break this one. LaVonte David (36) is another contender with 1716 tackles...but would need to play until he is 40 to break it.
(Wagner is a little further behind in solo tackles. Ray Lewis has 1568 and Wagner only has 1150)

Interceptions: 81 by Paul Krause
-No active player is in the top 80.
Harrison Smith has 39, Kevin Byard has 36. Even if they doubled their career totals, they'd fall short.

It would appear that both the interception records are just not happening ever. The game has changed way too much. The rest all depend on longevity and beating father time. I highly doubt Brady, Rice, or Emmitt's records get beat in my lifetime but they definitely seem 1000x more likely to be challenged than the 2 interception records.
I can definitely say that whoever wrote the Boba Fett show has no clue what people liked about Star Wars or Boba Fett.

That was the biggest pile of trash ever.

As much as I hated the Obi Wan show and it had some terrible writing, at least it tried.
wild to trade a guy after a record-setting season, but not like Myles was winning them any games.
It is funny how people blame Pargo now, but at the time the narrative was praising Pargo for being the only fricking player with a pulse in the second half.

The Hornets looked legit scared of the Spurs defense in the second half and Pargo HAD to play hero ball because CP3's pick and roll wasn't working at all and Bruce Bowen was eating Peja's lunch. DWest got cheapshot by Robert Horry in game 6 and played through a bad back.

All said and done Pargo had a shot to tie the game with like 40 seconds left and hit back rim. Game was downhill for the last minute but the 4th quarter was all Pargo.

eh, I can't count the NBA Cup against Wemby.

He was obviously still hurt. Came off the bench in both games. And apparently his grandma died the day before the game and he said his heart wasn't in it...

I do think the Knicks match up very well against the Spurs, tho so I hope it is a great series.

I am probably pulling for the Knicks just for Hart and Jose.

Vegas seems to think so. Spurs heavily favored
had a terrible airball and had a good look late but threw it back out despite fighting the clock. He was out of gas.
I am so glad they dunked it at the end.

frick your couch!
OKC and Cleveland should have an Analytics NBA Finals next week.
