I-10 widening project is wreaking havoc

Not only are the overpass businesses flooding but apparently some homeowners are too.
Seems likely the construction project is creating some of these problems.
Good luck getting the City/State to fix the problem.

All to not fix the traffic problem

It flooded all over town. That was a lot of rain. We had flooding in Livingston, too.

So they learned nothing from 2016. Shocker.

They probably need another study done to find out why it flooded(

There's about 37 new subdivisions on Burbank between Gardere and Lee, and most of that was low-lying wetland-type area where water would settle. All I know is all of that water has to go somewhere now that it's displaced by all these goddamn houses (and condos).

The new one just cleared by Hunter's Trace looks like a fricking lake.
They're going to have to build that land up so high.

They have to widen it somehow. If they don’t do construction, what else are they supposed to do?

That's the most recent example, and it's been flooded for days. But once they build it up that water is gonna flood some other area that it normally doesn't
But don't let that stop the city from green-lighting every fricking subdivision project that comes across their desks though.

In 10-12 years when finished you will like it. Of course 2 years after that they will start breaking some of it up due to poor planning.
You’ll still have those 2 years though!!

I wonder if this project going on at the same time as LSU lakes was a bad idea

An overpass area business rabble rousing over I-10 widening? What a surprise!
Seems more likely that the gravel pay lot that was built up next door is impeding natural drainage.
Additionally, someone familiar with the building in question posted that it flooded a few times in the past, before this I-10 construction was a thing.

It is pretty fricking ridiculous

A bunch of this comes from these slimy developers finding an equally slimy engineer willing to stamp drainage studies that fudge the numbers. The city isn't going to pay for their own study to dispute the firm's study, so you're taking them at their word that they're not flooding everyone.

The result of years of keeping a loop from being bult due to NIMBY. Instead of the construction, they should be blaming those who have spent decades blocking a loop because it would be inconvenient for their inner peace.

Lakeside will be flooded once that neighborhood is built.

Maybe affected homeowners should start filing lawsuits against the developers and city and whomever else. Force them to fix the issues or spend to pay defense counsel. Either way it costs them money.

and then developers get sued and have to fix the problem which in return floods the new houses and the owners of those houses have to deal with the issue
