It seemed the US had dozens of sloppy turnovers trying to make cool looking passes, but resulted in turnovers. Not that tight of defense. If you noticed when the US was on offense, France had every single player on lockdown. They played suffocating defense which also forced the dozens of turnovers.

In the end, the talent was too much especially Curry's shooting for France to win. Anthony Davis seemed to be the only one on US to play defense with 4 blocked shots.

At times it looked like the US team was treating this as the NBA All Star Gsme.

They hung around thanks to a 7'5'' alien hitting 3s and getting putbacks over HOFers. They had another guy who posterized Lebron so they seemed pretty talented.

LOL we were an infinitely better defensive team than them and ran much better offensive sets.

Turnovers plagued both teams.

This is such a lame attempt at discrediting a genuinely great team that just won a tournament by going through what was by far the toughest competition compared to what any of the past USA teams ever faced.

This team had what it took to win and did just that. Quit trying to be cute and discredit the accomplishment.

They were the best team and showed that against a very good field of teams. The world is getting better every year and the competition is as good as ever.

This US team played well when it mattered and showed they were the best

I don't know where the narrative from the OP is coming from. I mean, they haven't had a whole camp together, so the offense is going to be limited in terms of "plays" I thought they did a nice job of executing "an offense" but at some point when you have that much talent you have to let them play.

I thought they cared tremendously, or at least it appeared that way to me. That was some incredible defense being played by our guy for sure, and they were in a white hot cauldron playing a road game with such high stakes. I'm impressed with the job the coaching staff and players did.

Pay no attention to the 4 times in a row one player shook the whole country of France out their drawers to end the game.

Believe it or not it’s not easy to put a bunch of stars on one team and have them play cohesively as a team. Each one is used to being the top dog.

France is the best European all star team and second best Olympic team .

8 players that spent time on NBA rosters practicing and playing with the best players in the world!

A roster with a legitimate 9 or 10 players that contribute!

Height, depth, good ball handlers,3 point shooters and
defenders...

They won a tough draw and would and could beat any OTHER team in the 2024
Olympic Games!

The USA played defense too!

Against Serbia The Joker had 3 good quarters but was shut down in the 4th qtr which was the best defensive effort for the entire game...

France is very talented and the offense was led by 3 good players that were not intimidated by the USA's great NBA players!

Not easy to manage a "team" when it consists of 12 iso players, but damn it is beautiful when it clicks.

Well at least they are all adults and you don't have to hear from someone's mom asking why their kid isn't playing.

Wait....

I legit think in the last decade to decade and a half there are several US teams you could bitch about.

I don’t think this team was one of them. They played a pretty good tournament and put together a few very complete games. The semifinals and the gold medal games were won by the more talented, better coached, and more motivated team. To say the least it is obvious the US was the best team in this tournament and the best team in the world at the moment.

The world has been catching up….would it surprise anyone if Wemby continues to develop and carries France to a FIBA world title or an Olympic gold…..I don’t think it would surprise many. His game is incredibly suited for international play.
