If it were up to me checked bags would be free and the airlines would charge for carry ons that can’t fit under the seat.

Love it but that makes more work for the airport crews so costs would go up

If the flight is 60% full, there’s no way this is an issue. Cool your jets. Get a drink.

Which is why it was so wild to see so many preboarders

It also appeared some who were not pre boarding had difficulty getting in the correct boarding group

With the assigned seating now I don't care anymore, let the fatties make their walk of shame.

The new battle is overhead bin space

And this is after the gate agent blocked like 7 or 8 suitcases for being too big

Perhaps it had already started its decline by that point, but I think one of the biggest casualties of Covid was the absolute enshittification of SWA.

The collapse of Spirit has made this worse
At Love about to board for MSY

There are currently 26 pre-boarders lined up

Crazy thing is the board says the flight is only about 60 percent full
I think it’s a lack of understanding

Also it’s going against the idea that you should invest long term

Are you putting salt in your margarita? No it’s not the same concept.

I’m not offended, just disgusted

I have a different supplier of power now, and the difference makes you wonder how Entergy even continues to operate.

Light rain, no wind, no power

Get it together Entergy Louisiana…

Apparently the rain is making some tree limbs sag and touch their lines, causing a failure.

So I guess they aren’t trimming trees around their lines like they should be.
Have Entergy as your provider.

You lose power so often, it cuts down on your bills.
I’ve been to a couple of her shows. She’s quite funny.

If the Dems run someone somewhat competent in 2028 they will win

Not really above that fits that bill.

But the GOP isn’t full of competent people either. The wealthy are doing well but the middle class is falling further behind, AI and outsourcing will continue that push
My daughter recently graduated from a large LA high school. Great grades and test scores. Top 3 percent in her class.

She got offered $0 in scholarships by LSU. Only TOPS.

Meanwhile LSU is expanding admitting ghetto students who presumably are getting a ton of need based grants and DEi scholarships.

A good friend is a Bama grad, lives in Tuscaloosa, and says that city is going to hell also.

it's whether this is actually a smart way to build affordable housing or just a pipeline for public money into private pockets. The developer fee is what nags at me most. On LIHTC deals these run 10 to 15% of total cost, so somewhere around $10 to $15 million here, and it gets paid out of the tax-credit money, not the rent, whether or not the building ever succeeds.

Well, this is what happens when people believe that privatization is always the best option.

The tax break bothers me too, since the land is already tax-exempt, so what exactly are we exempting, and against what projected bill that nobody's shown us?

Govt owns the land. Private company owns the improvements which would be subject to property tax. That’s what the tax break is offsetting.

Look at the port. State / port NOLA owned the land. Companies owned the buildings and equipment. So they get tax breaks.

This is why all the promises of increased property tax revenue for the Louisiana International Terminal are absolute BS. The buildings and equipment will either get a tax break or be bought by the port. Either way, won’t be subject to property tax.

Mike is usually on from 4 to 6. Bobby just seems to be full time during football season.

This is my take as well. Bobby is basically non existent during football off season. I think he’s spending a lot more time with family.
