Can you get in with 12 wins?

I understand SC sucks, but we are playing better baseball. Next weekend will be tough with Georgia. Say we win 3 out of the next 6, can you get in? I guess we would probably have to make a decent tournament run.

We’d have to make a run in the tourney. 13 has been the floor for regular season wins. Even with 13 we’d probably still need a tourney win to boost our RPI.

no..we would have had to basically have an rpi in the top 10 and go to the finals of the sec tourney and id still be shocked

We need our opponents to help our RPI now too. UCF is playing Arizona State currently and a win by them would help us a little bit.

In the past 10 years, the only SEC to make the tournament with 12 wins was 2021 Alabama in a season that was affected by Covid. So I’d say the chance of LSU making it with 12 wins is almost 0%.

Since Mainieri took over, LSU has had 13 or fewer conference wins only 4 times.
2007: 12 wins and missed tournament
2011: 13 wins and missed tournament
2021: 13 wins and made the tournament
2024: 13 wins and made the tournament

Not that it matters here, but that team would reach the post season guaranteed.

Judging by the fact that LSU was a 2 seed just two season ago in the chapel hill regional with only 13 wins in sec play shows that they were pretty much a lock before even the SEC tournament run. 13 will get us in.

If we go 4-2 against two top 17 RPI teams in UGA and UF, it will rise. I know some posters here have used some sort of RPI simulator to see where it would be if we won those games, but I don't know what site they use.
