Corey Barber appears to be a safety blanket. I remember Jarvis Landry making tough catches like that. Finger tips and taking big hits.

Also, Mothershed needs more opportunities. You can see he moves well for his size, and he wasn't afraid to mix it up and block. Zach Grace can't catch a damn cold. It limits us when he's in the game. Problem is, when he comes out, you can almost expect us to pass. I think you have to go Mothershed from here on out unless we're going shot yardage and telling the defense you can stop us.

Curtis had the big catch on 3rd down for them on the opening drive. Got up gimpy and never came back in.

Charles made some tackles but got bullied.

The kid who had the TDs is from Barbe. Jamal Levy I believe but he’s only 5’7 160. We’d be better off getting Jaylin Lucas but Lane prefers bigger body wideouts. If anyone is going to be a gadget player for this offense next year it’s going to be Phillip Wright or the freshman Braylon Calais

With the portal, these FCS games are basically auditions for some of these kids. Good chance to see who can hold their own and potentially help your depth down the road. McNeese has two worth watching, both from Iowa, LA.

Curtis Deville Jr. is a 6’2”, 204-pound junior WR with 15 catches, 284 yards and 4 TDs this year. Former four-star who signed with Purdue and had offers from Louisville and Florida State. He’s dealt with injuries, and this is pretty much his first healthy year. Really talented kid. I want to see if he rises to the occasion against LSU.

Cohen Charles is a 6’0”, 175-pound sophomore safety with 25 tackles, 13 solo and a pick. He came on late at Iowa and was the Class 4A Outstanding Defensive Player his senior year. More of a box safety in my eyes, but insanely athletic with good instincts.

Not saying these guys would be stars at LSU, but both could show they belong at this level and be worth a look if they hit the portal. Just two names to watch who could make a few plays.

And while we’re talking about Iowa, we need to offer Kaston Lewis. He’s committed to Texas Tech. Plays RB & Safety but I like him better at safety long term. Idk how Iowa keeps producing all this talent.
