Kevin Smith is 10 times the actual on field football coach.

He will have multiple running backs ready to go. He doesn't play.

correct.

It wasn't that Les ran the ball. It was that he telegraphed when and where he was running the ball with an unimaginative offensive scheme.

Among all else, an OC needs to be unpredictable and keep the defense guessing.

LF lost the Heisman because Les continued to run him into a Dline of 11 against bama.

Alabama players on the field were in our headsets. Most of those guys were NFL caliber players and had 2 games against Les's scheme and tendencies.

Because Les couldn't change or adapt, that game was lost before kickoff.

That Wisconsin RB LSU got is going to be stud. He looked really good on film and I was surprised he wasn't higher in the portal. He apparently was running with 1s a lot.

He’s an old school lsu back style back. Big bruiser with good vision.

Having a scat back like Berry and Durham aren’t durable enough

Not really. People were just happy to see someone other than BK in the interim. Maybe 3% wanted him as HC.

Most aren’t looking to place their kids with a trusted father figure anymore. Was a big deal for small town prospects but world has gotten smaller. BR is more accessible. It’s now NIL primetime. Not amateur sports. The Franks of the world are now Agents.

If Frank doesn’t produce at recruiting @ OM he’ll be gone in 2 years.

Thought it was ridiculous some of the people on this board along with the local media was so adamant that Lane had to keep him on staff.

I thought it was ridiculous when this board was adamant that Raymond was past his time and was replaceable when BK got the job.

There's always going to be a difference of opinions with coaches/players during a transitional phase ...it is what it is.

Barring an injury or one of the other backs just miraculously improving way past where they are now, Dilin Jones will get the lion's share of the carries in '26. He's listed at 5-11, 210....but if you see him in person it's gotta be more like 6 even and 225. He's been hitting the weights and just looks completely different than Berry and Durham

I still haven’t gotten over Charles Scott going off in the 1st half vs UK 2007 and then inexplicably never touching the ball again until OT

NO RB coach could "develop" a RB to have great success in LSU's offensive system over the last two years because the scheme was AWFUL. That wasn't a Frank problem.

However, I do agree that NIL has severely mitigated a guy like Frank's value to LSU. Regardless of your relationship with a coach, the highest salary is still the biggest driver of where most players choose to play. An in-state kid who receives a good "salary" will choose LSU more often than not, regardless of the RB coach.
