Of course that is if people don’t go in the portal:

Next year:
Position: Serna, Braun, Patrick, Ruckert, Arrambide, Pearson
Pitching:Evans, Schmidt, Moore, Paz

Following year: Position: Serna, Braun, Patrick, Ruckert, Pearson
Pitching: Paz

I’m sure a couple other on the team especially pitchers will be big contributors down the line.

Nice group. I still we need a couple of ace pitchers. At least one Frontline starter. Im glad we have the 3 weekend guys back but im not trusting them all to be great.

One thing that is baffling. How can we have 2 “core” catchers coming back and both are below average defensively? One will change positions hopefully and bring in some defensive help at that position. Too many dropping of pitches this year allowing runners to advance and taking strikes away from pitchers.

Because they both came in as big bats that needed help defensively.

Don't think this will be the case. Both have progressed defensively. Arrambide, while still not good, is much better than he was last year.

Serna is getting better as the year goes on.

They will both likely get better next year as well.

Also, the pitching staff holds some blame here. It's very hard to catch 97 with run on the opposite side of the plate that you set up on, or block a ball spiked 10 feet in front of the plate.

Yamin is not SEC caliber... not a good pickup by JJ... 36 ab and 14 k's... doesn't look like any help next season

I mean he was a back burner developmental guy in last years class.

I have no problem taking shots on 6'6 multi year guys with major power potential, who you do not plan on counting on in year one - which we didn't.

It's like saying Ben Nippolt was a bad pickup. He's a JAG with potential. He's the perfect 40th man on the roster.

This year has sucked and Jay needs to own it and I think he does. He’s also earned the right for this fan base to let him figure it out and continue to trust the direction of the program

Yamin is a great depth piece. He’s played catcher, first base, and left field this year and he has some power when he makes contact.

It's amazing the mood difference on the Rant after two wins.

I hope both take a step behind the plate next year. But I think they platoon DH and catcher next year. Keep the legs fresh.

Both catchers have gotten much better at preventing the passed balls as the season has gone on. If you were paying attention instead of just being pissy you would have noticed this.

All you LSU Baseball Sycophants just can't spew this out enough, huh?

Yeah, we know the baseball team coached by Jay Johnson won the CWS in 2023 & 2025 and we also know that all you Sycophants are of the opinion that he has earned the right to fix all his mistakes from this season.

We all know perfectly well because "You People" post it as often as the LSUAD spews out "Calling BR" at every "LSU University" (University of LSU) athletic event.

BTW, I don't have much sympathy for Million Dollar LSU HC's that decide to take a season off and tank their program due to their mis-management. Nice $$$$ gig where you are allowed to do that.

Yeah, actual rational fans know that a coach who has won 2 titles in the last 3 years can be given some grace.

What does any of this even mean?

You think Jay Johnson "took the year off" and "tanked the program"? Got it.

Go post more about Brad Davis.
