re: Wednesday SEC Basketball

Feel like we just set a record in half in SEC history for least amount of fouls ever called, especially how whistle happy and shite the SEC is
Crazy come back. Listening to it on 750 outside sons Dojo lol

Down 20 with like 6.5mins to go in the half and not hitting shite and they had all the momentum

Also, cause our defense was so shite and Vandys was at the end, that has to be a record for the least amount of fouls called in a half in SEC history
Turning it off until I listen in on 750 later. Just abysmal

I just have to point out that the article author's last name is Plummer.

Sometimes you just can’t make this shite up
Dawgs looking so good. Nerds looking good too, but frick them. Hate we don’t play em 3 times anymore

No one is “defending them.” We are simply saying that there is more awareness since they actually arrest the kids instead of just giving them a ticket and moving on.

Kids are stupid. Kids that get paid a shitload and have fast cars are more stupid. Football players in general tend to be more stupid than the average kid too.

We just can’t compare it to other Universities because they arent dumb enough to arrest people for speeding
quote:

Are there any conspiracy theories regarding this? I mean this is getting absurd

Not a conspiracy, just that APD decides to arrest athletes for this type of stuff.

Just the other day, my buddy got a super speeding ticket for going 105 on I-85 South of Newnan. He has to pay the original speeding ticket + an additional $200 fine.

In Athens, they arrest you and charge a $26 bail

Obviously it’s a problem, but just more awareness since they arrest the kids. I am sure elsewhere, they just ticket a kid and no one ever knows
GA Tech crushing their opponents right now. frick the nerds but it’s kinda impressive
quote:

So many things went wrong in this case. Kid was living with Mom and Dad didn't know about the shrine.

100%. The police even visited them months earlier about a potential threat, but there was no proof it was Colt at the time. The dad is on police video saying if you know my son made any type of threats, I will rid my house of all guns…but the officers said they didn’t have any proof it was him.

Also, the videos of him walking onto the bus and around school and in classrooms with his backpack is crazy. He had massive poster board stick out with a sock on top of the barrel and yet no one thought it was suspicious.

I think one teacher even asked him, “what’s that for” and he said “I’ll show you later” and walked off.

Just thank god that girl saw the gun before opening the door again for him. And thank god for the hero teacher that died, but was able to close that door again after crawling back in.

This could have been much much worse. The SROs ran straight into the sound of gun fire and confronted him and were able to arrest him quickly
quote:

There has to be some laws on gross negligence that apply here.

According to the law experts I’ve heard, there really isn’t. He wasn’t officially labeled mentally ill. There were no laws preventing him from giving him the gun.

Perhaps the law will change, but that could create a very serious slippery slope

quote:

Like bringing a pit bull to a day care and letting him loose

That would against the law as you knew what was going to happen.

quote:

Totally irresponsible.

100% and just fricking stupid. Taking his guns would obviously prevented the shooting “that day,” but stupidity is not against the law
quote:

I’m guessing he’ll get 15 years for manslaughter

If this gets to the jury, the defense better damn well hope they get it through the head of the jury that there is a difference between what Colin could have done different and the LAW. The jury is not there to punish someone or emotional conviction someone. They are there to determine guilt of a criminal law

Also, if they don’t prove that and they atill convict, I think the judge will likely give a minimum sentence and delay sentencing upon appeal. That’s just my guess as of right now based on the testimony
quote:

So he knew his kid was unstable, or at least had exhibited signs of having mental health issues. And he still let him have a gun(s).
Did the kid have free access to the gun(s) and they weren't in a safe that only adults had access to?

Yes. He gave it to him for Christmas 9 months earlier as they had gone deer hunting together

The dad fricked up, no doubt, but did he ever break the law….

If this emotional thing continues and they cannot prove the dad KNEW he was going to shoot up the school, the judge could rule to direct verdict after the State rests

It differs from the Tennessee parents as they knew that day the kid drew pictures of shooting up the school and still let him attend that day….even that trial was tough

quote:

Wow I hadn't seen this. Lock the dad up and throw away the key

Colin never even asked for a bail hearing and has been sitting in jail since he was arrested, as he feels guilty for what happened, but from a legal standpoint, giving your son a gun even though he liked certain things or acted a certain way, doesn’t mean he broke the law.

He fricked up majorly. He knows it and everyone knows it. But what he did, was not unlawful
quote:

The father absolutely deserves some of the blame but how much is the question

It is heartbreaking to watch the emotional day from yesterday and I 100% agree the father is to blame…but from a legal standpoint, they have to prove that Colin KNEW his son was going to shoot up the school. Not that he might have, could have, etc. That’s the legality behind it, which is what makes this case so tough and interesting
quote:

His own parents thought he should be institutionalized and demonstrated behavior that would indicate he's capable of doing something like that. The father absolutely deserves some of the blame but how much is the question

They dad coordinated with the school to have a mental health evaluation done at school on Sept 5, which is why the Colt moved up the shooting to September 4. He originally planned to do it in February of 2025 on the anniversary of the Cruz school shooting at MSHS in Florida
quote:

Wow I hadn't seen this. Lock the dad up and throw away the key

I believe those were at his mothers house before she lost custody and it was only mentioned to the Grandmother while she drove the mom up to Winder after the shooting that day
Anyone else watching this trial? It’s one I’ve been looking forward to for a while. I’m very torn. Day 3 is today and SRO on the stand now after Asst Principal wrapped up

2 teams that are Jekyll and Hyde…good half from the Dawgs.

Gotta keep up the intensity on defense and stay out of foul trouble

We are making shots tonight and they are missing wide open looks at home
Legit my first thought when I saw that pic so I posted that one instead of a more professional one.

However, that captain and vessel won an award last year for their successes and leadership
