some people shite on the high dividend etf's but that quarterly dividend is much higher than picking a stock

Yea these are interesting. The thing that turns me off about them is the higher relative expense ratio. But I’ve never actually sat down and done the math on if the higher yields make up for it or not.

ETFs aren’t inherently safe—they’re momentum vehicles built on continuous inflows.

Not the ones that are tied to an underlying index.

Everyone hated boomers long before that.

Only place I’ve seen it reported that these are coming within “days” is in that Turkish website which was itself just reporting what Z said at NATO so I doubt it is true. I read Poland sent them five yesterday. Thats not going to go very far. Fact is the global supply is critically depleted and there’s no amount of PR that can change that.

Trump's promise on Patriots will take time, leaving Ukraine facing tough choices

quote:

KYIV, July 10 (Reuters) - A pledge by President Donald Trump to allow Kyiv to produce U.S. Patriot air defence missiles is a victory for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy but it could take at least a year to start producing them, defence experts ?say.

With its chronic shortage of interceptor missiles likely to continue until then, Kyiv faces tough choices over which targets are a priority to defend as Russia keeps pounding its cities and energy infrastructure.

quote:

Patriot interceptor missiles are vital for Ukraine's defence at a time when Zelenskiy says Russia, whose battlefield advances have stalled, is trying to leverage its advantage in ballistic missiles by hitting Ukraine hard.

The Patriot is the only weapon in Kyiv's arsenal capable of stopping Russian ballistic missiles. Ukraine has brought down only four of the 54 much-faster ballistic missiles launched by ?Russia this month.

quote:

Ukraine has managed to fast-track military development in the war since Russia's 2022 invasion, but defence experts say building a system to down missiles travelling at several times the speed of sound is the toughest challenge in missile technology.

Serhii Beskrestnov, an advisor to Ukraine's defense ministry, said on Telegram there was uncertainty over how long ?it would take subcontractors to scale production of scarce components.

One country that might be able to help Kyiv accelerate the process is Germany, which has developed a domestic production chain for PAC-2 interceptors.
Two sources familiar with the discussions said the ?new interceptors were likely to be manufactured in Germany or another European country, where it is safer, and production could be shifted to Ukraine when the war ends.

quote:

Working on the principle that three Patriots are needed per ballistic missile to ensure an interception, they estimate some 2,400 interceptors would be needed per year if Russia's output remains stable.

"Even with a licensed production facility in ?Ukraine, reaching that number will be very, very difficult, if ?not impossible," Hoffmann said.

Lockheed delivered just over 600 PAC-3s ?last year and is aiming to scale its production to around 2,000 by 2030. A Ukrainian plant might produce 200 to 300 interceptors a year, Hoffmann said.
Basic arrangement for the middle class is you get fricked on everything. Big corporations can do whatever they want and everything keeps getting more and more expensive year after year. Middle class people have no shot to get ahead unless you have a stake in the corporations that are doing the fricking. My advice for my fellow wage cucks is this, avoid consumer debt and sacrifice everything you can to buy low cost ETFs tied to the big indexes.
I’ve been around here long enough to remember when people took it as an article of faith that Russia was running out of missiles. Now Russia is running out of gas. Social media to the boomer mind is like liquor to the Indians. They never developed an immunity to it so once you introduce it to them they lose all faculties and reason immediately and go full retard.

100%. Only real question is, will the SEC try to go classy and have a bank or an insurance company be the named sponsor, or are we going to get the Love’s Truck Stops Southeastern Conference? I don’t know which would be less offensive honestly.

Is that listing from Baton Rouge? When I went to LSU I lived a couple of blocks from this super creepy dude who was a registered sex offender and was one of these train sickos with model trains all over the place. Kinda looked like that guy. Something really wrong with these train people.
There’s something seriously mentally wrong with that guy

They are incomparably worse off than these people.

So now Ukraine is going to make their own.

Some day, maybe.

The Europeans are buying lots of them from us for Ukraine under the PURL mechanism.

They were before we expended 800 of them in the first five days of the Iran conflict against annual production of 750 per year. We don’t have enough to sell the euros to give to Ukraine.

Patriots have intercepted lots and lots of the cruise missiles that Russia has been using to strike Kyiv and other cities.

I agree. And now they are all out of them. And we aren’t sending more. So..

how do the Zelensky haters feel about Trump giving Ukraine permission to manufacture Patriot missile interceptors

I don’t see this as bullish for Ukraine at all. I see this as, our stocks are depleted. We’re not giving Ukraine any more and basically don’t have any to give. But we’ll let you manufacture them. Good luck with that. It will take years if ever before it actually happens with this new arrangement where in the past we were just shipping them to them. Ukraine already has a zero interception rate on ballistic missiles. They have a big problem and allowing them to manufacture the interceptors in the future doesn’t solve it.
Legal stuff. Drafting letters. Doing deposition summaries. Fable is really, really good.
