I don’t think there was enough time to have this mindset

but a quarterback should be down in that situation. I mean, we all know what would happen if a defensive player were to smash him while he was on the ground.

Why would a defender need to “smash” him, a defender could have literally just touched him.

That play will be forgotten fairly soon.

The play right before that dime to Thomas he should have thrown it away. Jags had to burn a timeout there. Trevor still makes too many silly mistakes.

But a W is a W.

It wasn't even the play of the game... 99 yd pick six tops that with ease. Not play of the game, day, or year.

What was Chris Jones doing ??

I was coming in to post this. I don't know if he would have caught up to him, but it doesn't look very good that he basically stood in a 5 foot radius for the entirety of the play.

That wasn't even the best play of the weekend.

In Chris Berman speak

"WHOOP! Trevor Lawrence. Jags. Chiefs. Seconds to go and the Chiefs, backs against the goal line. Protecting their 4 point lead. Lawrence takes the snap, and WHOOP! HE'S STUMBLING ONCE, WHOOP! THEN HE'S BUMBLING! Chiefs are wondering, "Where did he go?" And like a Phoenix rising, Lawrence goes bumbling, rumbling, stumbling AND LAWRENCE LEAPS INTO THE END ZONE! JAGS WIN! and leap out to a 4-1 record. And what about Kansas City? 2-3? Fans are wondering: Is the magic gone? Let's turn to ESPN NFL analyst Nate Taylor. Nate. What's going on in Kansas City? Is there a crisis of confidence building in the Chiefs' locker room, right now?"

It's funny that in the same game, you have Chris Jones just standing there on what ended up being the play to give the Jags the win. Maybe he doesn't affect the play, but you still have to pursue the live ball. And on the other side of it, you have that 99 yd pick six earlier in the game, and #98 for the Jags was hustling his arse off all the way down the field doing everything he can to keep JuJu from making the tackle.

That one play is the epitome of Trevor's NFL career. Stumble, stumble, then something that makes you go wow.

Um no? There's like 20 seconds left. Absolutely do not let them score there. And a FG can't even tie it. You do all you can to keep them out of the end zone there.

Drake Maye's play against Buffalo was better.
