I would have sworn the song itself was 59 years old.

You’re thinking of the Marvin Gaye/Kim Weston song that White people know that’s 60 years old

No song reminds me more of the 80s. It was also a highlight of 80s night at the Varsity during the 90s. When Rob Base came on it was your opportunity to dance up some arse!

He got stupid
I mean outrageous
He encouraged people to stay away from him because he was contagious.

He had an idea that he wanted to share and if you didn’t like it he didn’t care.

I saw him and vanilla ice on my 18th birthday at the Keg in Lafayette.

I went to high school the next day.

No joy, just pain today. RIP Rob Base

His name is Rob, he's got a real funky concept
Listen up, 'cause he's gonna keep you in step
He's got an idea, that he wants to share
You don't like it, so what, he don't care

When that slow intro to ‘It Takes Two’ would start playing at my middle school dances in the gym all of us would get very excited.

Great song.

I saw him at the Cajundome a year or two after his hit came out. It was only about 10% white and most of crowd was sorta booing him and I didn’t realize at time he wasn’t cool anymore.

The Ghetto Boys were the main group that headlined and had the energy from crowd.

Well, in fairness, he wasn’t a gentleman.

I want to rock right now, I am Rob Base and I came to get down.

My favorite part of the song is..."it wont hurt to listen to Red Alert. Take off your shirt, make sure it don't hit the dirt"
