Apparently, Dabo Swinney went ballistic about some blatant, next-level, over-the-top tampering by Pete Golding. You hate to see it...

I'll take it.

There is some Tennessee fan on YouTube with a decent sized following who hates Kiffin so much that he excuses Ole Miss doing this, because Kiffin took Ole Miss players.

While it would be hilarious for Ole Miss to have to scramble and replace Golding, I kind of want this to go away so we can keep the circus in place. He's going to destroy that program over the next 3-5 years until he gets canned.

He's the one that was enrolled in classes at Clemson, and IIRC, was literally in a class while Petey Pablo was texting him about going to Ole Miss. Apparently, he (Luke Ferrelli) showed the text messages to Dabo in an attempt to extort more money from Clemson and Dabo essentially said see ya later. I think Dabo said it was close to a million dollars.

Anyways, it couldn't happen to a better program. I'm not sure anything will come of this, but at a time where the NCAA has been losing power and essentially backed into a corner, I wonder if they'll try to make an example for multiple reasons. Primarily being to show they still have some power and also because Ole Miss went around the NCAA's ruling and got a crooked judge to reinstate Chambliss to be able to play football this coming fall.

Also, just a reminder, Ole Miss is a racist school. If any potential player or player's family is reading this, why would you want to send your kid to such a racist school? I was driving through the grove a couple years ago and got called the N word with a hard ER at the end simply because I was listening to Bone Thugs n Harmony - and I'm white. Is that the type of school you want your son or daughter going to? I didn't think so. Send them to LSU.

Here's a breakdown of what happened. This is pretty crazy stuff Petey Pablo was doing...
quote:

During the Jan. 23 news conference, Swinney called the Rebels' pursuit of Ferrelli a "straightforward case of tampering." Ferrelli, the 2025 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year at Cal, signed a revenue-sharing contract with Clemson after entering the transfer portal. He moved into an apartment in Clemson, South Carolina, enrolled in school and began offseason workouts with the Tigers.

Swinney said that on Jan. 14 -- more than a week after Ferrelli started classes at Clemson -- Ferrelli's agent, Ryan Williams, contacted Tigers general manager Jordan Sorrells to alert him that "Ole Miss was going hard" after his client. Sorrells contacted Thomas and asked that the Rebels cease further communication with Ferrelli.

According to Swinney, Thomas assured Sorrells that he did not support tampering but that Golding "does what he does."

"This is a whole other level of tampering," Swinney said on Jan. 23. "It's total hypocrisy. ... This is a really sad state of affairs. We have a broken system, and if there are no consequences for tampering, then we have no rules and we have no governance."

Swinney alleged that Golding texted Ferrelli during an 8 a.m. class and asked for the amount of his buyout at Clemson.

Then Golding sent Ferrelli a photo of a $1 million contract offer, according to Swinney. Rebels star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, a former Ole Miss starter, also called Ferrelli, allegedly attempting to lure him back into the transfer portal.

Swinney alleged that Williams declined to turn over Golding's text messages to Clemson unless the school added a second year to Ferrelli's contract that included a $1 million extension. The Tigers declined the offer.

Swinney said Ferrelli had no interest in leaving Clemson during a meeting on Jan. 15. Later that day, however, he asked the athletic department to enter his name in the transfer portal because he was leaving for Ole Miss.

On Jan. 16, Clemson submitted a complaint to the NCAA alleging "blatant" and "straightforward" tampering.

"I'm not trying to get anybody fired, but when is enough enough?" Swinney said on Jan. 23. "If we have rules, and tampering is a rule, then there should be a consequence for that. And shame on the adults if we're not going to hold each other accountable."

Yet another case of the NCAA dragging their feet. Case was opened 4 months ago, still no resolution. They just need to see some phone records, it takes 4 months to get that?

Yea that's pretty wild.

And don't forget, they were trying to say Kiffin/LSU was tampering while they were doing things like this. I'm guessing this isn't the only player they did this with.

Don’t know if I’ve ever upvoted you in a thread on Tiger Rant, but have one for this take.

While probation would be hilarious and excellent trolling material, the better outcome is watching Golding set them back maybe for good.

Golding was hired, what, early / late Dec. & then he's caught cheating in early Jan? Possibly getting his Black Bears' team on probation in 2 mths? Rather doubtful this was his one & only such tampering?

If the NCAA can’t do anything with this case, the NCAA needs to be dissolved because it has 0 power.

That said, if they start pushing hard against tampering, everyone is gonna be ineligible.
