I have honestly gotten to the point where I don't even want to do business with a place that doesn't let me handle it by live chat (with a person, not AI).
If I press 1 for english and anyone answers with an accent I hang up and try again, though.

What an interesting quirk to have many employees named Les.

quote:Amazon hates me for this. Their chat bots get pissed when I call them or for not being a real person. I hate liars so it usually escalates quickly. I have an echo alarm clock, my wife and I are constantly trying to find Alexa's boundaries.
You have to get hostile with the AI so it flags their system for escalation.

Just cuss at it.
Trying dealing with an automated recruiter that called me about a job in San Francisco four times over five hours, asking if I was interested in the job. After I'd said NO every single time.

If I die of a stroke, there’s a good chance it will be while I’m on a customer service call dealing with an AI bot. I need to wear a blood pressure monitor one time, because I’m probably running in the danger zone while maniacally screaming at the phone. Those things send me into an instant fit of frustrating rage. Then being patched through to Pakistan doesn’t help the volatile situation. They probably have me on a special list of some kind. My wife tells me I have anger issues.
