My wife and spent a week in Paris and at the games. Attended swimming, beach volleyball and indoor volleyball.

Everything was so well done. Only complaint was that it was hot. No AC in Europe. My VRBO had AC, which was nice. Stayed in Marais...which was perfect.

Even security was nice to us. Metro was super efficient for getting around.

Visited:

Le Louvre
Musse D'Orsay
Musse de L'Orangerie
Le Pantheon
Jardin de Luxembourg
Versallies
Palais Garnier
Sainte Chapelle
Tuileries
Eiffel Tower
Arc de Triomphe
Champs Elysees
Bastille
Sacre Coeur
Also, currently live in Lafayette so we visited Marquis de Lafayette's grave site.

Highly recommend a trip to Paris. There was so much that we didn't get to do.

And stop trying to shove their vegan menus down athletes throats.

Yep and if it weren’t for the United States of America they would’ve been doing it all in German

Yeah that was ridiculous. Asking athletes during the most important event of their lives to potentially make significant changes to their diet and not knowing how their bodies would react was a terrible call.

But the games were fantastic

frick the opening ceremonies tho fr fr

I will always remember the opening ceremonies as the time a bunch of middle aged women on my FB Feed decided that a band that doesn’t cuss and sings about saving the whales is “demonic.”

They probably did very well keeping the people who usually shite on the sidewalks outside the stores on Champs-Elysees in a sequestered part of Paris that had less Olympics traffic.

I was there in April and i found it to be much cleaner than big cities in the US. It's not perfect by any means, but we don't have any room to talk.

And as far as bums go it was no contest, US cities probably have 20x. I'm sure there were bums in areas I didn't go, but at least as far as I saw it was extremely minimal.

I went for a week. This was my fifth Summer Olympics.
It was spectacular, surpassing my previous favorite, London 2012.

Jaw-dropping venues for beach volleyball, fencing and anything that sent athletes into the Paris streets.

Parisians embraced every aspect of these Games. They filled the venues. They cheered for the home team, but more importantly they applauded all of the athletes, which is something I didn't see in all previous Games (Beijing and Vancouver, notably). It made for a magical, memorable scene at every event I attended.

I saw volleyball, beach volleyball, soccer, cycling, swimming and three sessions of track and field, including Mondo's big night.
Wow! I spent a ton on tickets, but it was worth every Euro.

Also, to correct one apparent impression, restaurants were open and the Metro trains ran on time. My hotel was two short blocks from a Metro station and my room's air-conditioning was so good I had to turn it off some mornings to defrost myself.

LA has a tough act to follow. Vive la France! Vive Mondo!

I really thought Paris did a great job with this year's Olympics.

Especially the distance swimming venue!

It is a beautiful city, and unlike London or Rome, it is really easy to understand the layout of Paris.

Also, some people say Parisians are rude, especially to Americans. I have never once found that to be the case, not even from a cab driver.

Nice place in my book.
