Went to two graduations this weekend. I saw:
Playboy t-shirt
Fishnet shorts
Swim trunks
Multiple bras/crop tips (not hidden bras that peeked out, they were wearing them as a top)
More cleavage than you can count
Two sideboobs
One nipple

Where are these graduations so we can avoid them?

Those kindergarten graduations can get pretty wild.

Both suburban high schools.
It was surprising.

20 family members in matching tshirts with the graduate’s face printed on the shirt?

Saw that. Told my wife that was at least not disrespectful.

Surprised you didn’t see a fully nude person with all that hyperbole.

I was recruited to a private catholic/college prep HS for football and graduation attire (mid 90s) was almost identical to college graduation. The public high school (4x as big) still has the tradition of wearing formal/prom attire for the ceremony.
My sons' HS explicitly stated collared shirts and closed toe shoes were required for boys to take part. It was basically business casual for both boys and girls. It seems wild to me that parents would allow their kids to dress so inappropriately. But let's be honest, most of those moms probably look like this.

Very much like a particular demographics reunions.

This graduation attire issue is just a pimple on the arm of the beast.
But to address your nonchalant attitude, or should I say a more than mere trifling rebuff, which reveals a very common attitude among many, you don’t seem to recognize that you are a participant and a product of the surrounding culture.
What other people do in the culture you are a part of does actually matter.

The number of HUD/Sec 8 and subsidized housing blocks that were created because of this is astounding. Even though Trump ended this in 2020 - MANY developments were already funded and planned.
Here is why....
"Obama's war on suburbs" refers to the highly debated 2015 Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule, which required municipalities receiving HUD funding to proactively track and address racial segregation and housing inequality in their communities. This federal effort to diversify suburbs caused deep divisions:The Obama Administration's GoalsThe Mandate: The 2015 HUD rule required local governments to use federal data to assess housing patterns and explicitly draft plans to reduce segregation and increase affordable housing. The Rationale: The administration operated on the premise that one's zip code should not dictate their economic future, aiming to open up access to better schools, transportation, and economic opportunity in previously exclusive or less-accessible areas. The Controversy and CriticismsLocal Autonomy: Critics—often conservative commentators, housing developers, and suburban municipal leaders—viewed the policy as federal overreach. They argued that the federal government was using funding as leverage to dictate local zoning laws, lot sizes, and neighborhood composition.Economic and Social Concerns: Opponents expressed concern that forcing the development of multi-unit or lower-income properties in wealthy suburban areas could lead to depressed property values, increased local taxes, and demographic shifts.

30 ish years ago, I remember the administration of Greenwood, MS HS, putting out information of stuff that couldn't be worn at graduation, curlers in hair, PJs, house slippers, etc. Greenwood HS was 99% black (and still is). I guess that didn't catch on.

I’m sure that was traumatic for you. I hope you’re gonna be okay. Maybe next time there will be some side penis hanging out to make you more comfortable.

Being a well respected member of society entails many things...one of them being dressing for the occasion at hand..whether its a presentation, wedding, interview etc.
If you disagree and think clothes dont matter id venture to say few people respect you.
You may disagree w it, but thats reality
