In the hospital with meningitis, hope he can recover quickly. Kid is a stud, miss watching him in purple and gold.

One article said they expect him to be in the hospital 7 to 10 days.

Indeed it can be. To this day my daughter has to go to therapy due to brain swelling. Bacterial meningitis at 2 weeks old. A Miracle she’s here to say the least. Prayers for him

Yeah, Bacterial is a lot worse than Viral Meningitis. Josh should be good to go with rest if he has Viral.

I’ll never forgive Brian Cashman for trading him for Joey fricking Gallo, leaving the Yankees in hell with Anthony Volpe. Get well soon Josh. frick you Cashman.

This sucks bad for him. The Rangers traded away Marcus Semien this year to open a spot for Smith to become their full time second baseman. He's been a utility player for them for the last 4 seasons and now he finally found his home. Started the year ice cold but hit .350 over his last 7 games before getting injured. His backup, Ezequiel Duran, is currently having his best start of his career hitting .270

Gallo at LSU would have been something.

Just like a 1-2 of Skenes and Misirowski

Prayerfully it’s viral and not bacterial. Bacterial if undiagnosed within something like 24-48 hours is deadly. Viral is a slower process. I say that as someone that had viral spinal meningitis in the early 90’s. The symptoms are close to mononucleosis for viral meningitis so it gets misdiagnosed a lot.

Yep. I had Bacterial spinal meningitis as a kid and was in a coma for two days. I didn't go back to school until the next school year. Unbelievable headache before going into coma. Went into coma a couple of hours before going to the doctor. My mom thought I was just sleeping hard.
