re: In the market for a great bay boat: - Sea Hoss
I have a Hydra Sport 23 Bay bolt and I think they are highly underrated bay boats. It has a F300 on it and cruises about 30 depending on sea conditions getting 2.1 or 2.2 mpg loaded with 5 guys to fish. It is a heavy boat that rides incredibly well for its size. We fished it up to 41 miles south of ...

re: What has broken on your boat this year? - Sea Hoss
Secondly my Lowrance HDS gen 3 has been acting like a fool. The tech support guys solution for everything is a hard reset and if that does not work they are pretty clueless. After several unsuccessful frustrating hours on the phone I said I should have bought a Humminbird....”crickets”. I nee...

re: Repowering My Bay Boat - Sea Hoss
How you liking the 300 on the bay bolt. my brother has the same boat with a 250F. is there a noticable cruise speed increase?
I think we are cruising about 4 miles an hour faster loaded to fish. I have a screenshot of my gauges from a few weeks ago in Venice. We were loaded with 5 ...

re: Repowering My Bay Boat - Sea Hoss
We repowered our 23' Bay Bolt last year. We had a 250 HPDI and went back with an F300. I will say we only went with Yamaha because the dealer matched the price Suzuki quoted us for the same setup, a 300 with fly by wire controls. The original Yamaha quote was over $4K more than the Suzuki quote. Don...

re: Minn kota vs motorguide - Sea Hoss
I'm going into the second year with my Terrova 112 and I wish I had bought one years ago, it is a game changer for me. I went with the Terrova over Ulterra due to the issues with auto deploy and stow, but this second generation Ulterra doesn't seem to have those issues....

re: Latest Mississippi River Photos - Sea Hoss
I was in Venice last Thursday thru Monday and the fuel dock was underwater the entire time. It was up to the bottom of the stairs one morning. I did notice that Sunday morning we fueled up late around 9 am and the majority of the charter fleet was tied up at the dock, that seemed odd to me being the ...

re: Venice This Weekend - Sea Hoss
Well I made it home last night after a beautiful weekend on the water in Venice. We fished to the SE Friday and struggled to find fish. We ended the day with 4 mangrove and about a dozen big beeliners. We finally found some fish but the Sharks were so bad we couldn't catch them, probably lost 30-40...
