I don’t think anyone knows for sure how many China has left. Shitty little events seem to never end. We seem to have a possibility of about 3 or 4 more.

Right now it is

USA 38
Tomorrow:
China Very likely to win W Weightlifting +81kg and that is all they have left so will finish with 40 unless a huge upset happens.
USA very likely to win W Basketball and probably W Wrestling 76kg.
USA also has Cycling and W Volleyball with a chance for gold, I don't think either is favored, but both have a real shot at winning.
If all goes to script, both China and USA finish with 40 gold medals, but USA finishes ahead because we demolished them in silver medals.

Yeah, they’re almost certain to finish at 40.
We have more opportunities, but they’re nowhere near as certain. Women’s basketball is a strong favorite, but others are either slight favorites or underdogs.

Currently up by one but they apparently have a sure gold in weightlifting and who knows what else. It looks like we’ll need 2 out of 3 or even possibly 3 of 3 out of volleyball, w basketball, and wrestling.

The high jumper not sharing gold was very unfortunate. In Tokyo, same thing happened between Qatar and Italy guys. They both decided to take gold and were ecstatic. Two olympic champs hugging each other and then celebrating like crazy.

Katie Moon and the Aussie chick who won gold this year in pole vault shared it at the Worlds last year....at Moon's offering (who was the current Olympic champ)....the Aussie jumped at the chance and was ecstatic as both were exhausted, and the Aussie had already vaulted as high as she had ever vaulted. Sometimes a mans got to know his limitations.
