8 golds in diving, 5 golds in shooting, 5 golds in table tennis, 4 in golds weight lifting.
Those four events are 60% of their gold medal count.

12 in T&F and 8 in swimming for the US That's 57 % in two event groups. Add the 3 in Gymnastics and that is nearly 2/3rds from 3 event groups.
Why would that matter though?
