Between norovirus, hantavirus and weave-pulling fights in the buffet lines I don't see how anyone in their right mind would willingly elect to be subjected to confinement in one of these hellholes.

I'll take watching the sunset on my front porch with a beer instead.

ETA had a friend in Miami get married on a cruise ship (docked) and the ship was going to sail right after and all I remember is this massive line of people getting ready to board standing in the sun for 2 hours holding all the baggage with kids crying just waiting to have their belongings rifled through by the liquor gestapo and I remember thinking how awful that looked.

You can't find that kind of excitement just anywhere.

There are a lot of “normal” people who absolutely love cruises, mostly retirees. I’m baffled by it, but lots of people I know take multiple cruises a year.

I could see a contraction in the market but not a collapse.

I certainly agree with you that a cruise is about the last thing I would want to do for a vacation but the issues you listed are not new…sickness, bad behavior and trashiness are features not bugs

"Spirit" level lines will take a hit (their clientele tends to be maskers).

Upper end lines will be okay.

Ive never had a desire to go on a cruise.. at least not since Love Boat was on the air when i was a little kid.. but honestly, if the Great Pandemic didnt kill the industry, then i doubt anything will .

Hopefully not. I'd rather those people be sequestered to their ships and not go to other vacation spots.

the cruise industry keep surviving things seem like would absolutely collapse the industry, so no, I don't think this time will do anything

I've never done a cruise, had zero desire to do one, but my wife really wants to do one of the Viking River cruises in Europe

that might be my only type of cruise I'll do

I know people that absolutely love cruises. I've never been on one and don't have a desire to ever go on one. But I'd imagine there are enough people that like them to keep them in business.

All companies have multiple orders for more billion dollar ships, so no

You just have to go on the right cruise line

I think a lot has to do with how much you love the water. It really is a special feeling being out in the middle of the Atlantic as you take a stroll early in the morning when most passengers are asleep. The majesty of the sea. The power of the waves.

If you do Spirit of the Seas aka carnival, you get all that trashiness. If you do a higher end cruise, you don’t

I bought $200k of RCL at $251-252. Probably headed back to COVID lows now. Was headed back to $300...Hanta. Of course.
