• Sentencing Range: Under the terms of his plea deal, Bolton faces a prison sentence ranging from no prison time up to a maximum of 5 years (60 months).

The judge will factor in the severity of the breach—including the fact that Bolton's personal email was compromised by an Iranian-linked cyber actor—when making the final decision. • Other Penalties: Regardless of whether he is sentenced to prison, Bolton has agreed to a $2.25 million fine, 100 hours of community service, a formal national security debriefing, and the forfeiture of his federal retirement pay and government pension.
Bolton was permitted to return home and remains free from custody until his formal sentencing hearing.
