went with a blue star open burner range/oven, bosch dishwasher and frigidaire fridge/freezer units with the trim kit

Same except replace blue star with AGA range. Who gives a shite about matching; get best-in-class for each.

I regret nothing and I think we have a Frigidaire microwave that's hidden in our pantry because let's face it, nobody wants to see your ugly arse microwave.

Other things: $79 garage disposal from Costco, Amazon Chinese 36" stainless single pan sink, Moen touchless faucet, De'Longhi dinamica coffee machine, smeg toaster, ninja blender...

I think that mostly covers it
She's a good person. I'll take a ban bet over it. Please stop with the conspiracy theories.

A privileged fricking count of the bureaucracy
:casty:

she grew up poor in NYC raised by her mom and she and her 2 sisters were wildly successful long before they married. her mom did that. alone.

if you ever met her or her other 2 sisters you'd know they're all 3 the furthest thing from 'privileged'.
ok a few things here.

i've met julia in fact the entire nesheiwat family.

her mom, hayat is an absolute angel but as tough as nails, especially to her (former) son-in-law.

they are not the enemy. her sister, jacqueline is married to scott stapp of Creed.

her other sister, janette is trump's appointment for surgeon general.

don't fall for this bullshite. they're a conservative family with incredible family values.

so please, hang tight on this story and don't assume julia is some kind of democrat plant.

eta i'm literally only name dropping in this thread because these ladies have been nothing but amazing and you can tell alot about someone by how they act; when janette was named surgeon general you know where she was the very next day? in nashville. having lunch with her sister's first grader along with the rest of the family.

I honestly can't remember how I paid for our two, but I know it damn sure wasn't standing in line to swipe my fricking card.

The first, I just remember watching him go to sleep and I had to get out and to my car. Our GSD, they came to the house and administered it...took her away afterwards.
my golden mix was 3 weeks ago so it still stings.

bought a rotiessere for him the night before..then while checking out i turned around and also got 8 pieces of fried chicken too

i'll be damned if he wasnt going to have the meal of his life the night before.

I don’t see the appeal of Trader Joe’s. It also looks like they only hire hipster douchebags.
i used to enjoy it before we got an aldi 2 miles away and it didn't take long for me to prefer aldi.

traders is much more froo froo w/ shite i don't ever buy

aldi is just staples: veggies, bread, cheese, dairy, wine & i go to publix or somewhere else for meat.
Bump Wednesday night! :nana:

brought the krautwagon back to life this weekend so planning on doing a german bier garden before the show and then enjoying the robots :nana:

she looks like the chick from 24 in the bottom right photo

Aldi has a version of Dave's Killer Bread at half the price and I swear it is better.

They sell a lot of house branded products but also some name brand things... For example Duke's is cheaper than WM

yeah their bread aisle is legit. so many good things to choose from.

i like the cheese selections and the salami and other cured meats.

i swear aldi is the anti-costco.

felt like we were spending $600+ every time we hit costco and i swear i have no idea where all that shite went later.

aldi is quick easy, and you know what you're going to find there. potatoes for $3/bag, coconut water for 99 cents and occasionally a random mandolin on the 'fun' aisle that causes your wife to end up at the ER 3 hours later holding a piece of her finger :ahh:

I hate this little fricker.
remember when some liberal magazine did a spread on him during covid and the little hitler was surrounded by bobble-heads of his likeness and photos of himself all over the walls???

because i remember.

i'm fricking jim jones level of aldi cultness.

the fact almost everything they sell is based off european food ingredient standards was enough for me.

$1.50 for a box of cereal with no corn syrup or artificial colors or dyes or GMO grain?? pass me a glass of fricking kool-aid.

my wife and 10yo boy couldn't bear to be in the room when they stuck in the needles in so they paid up front while i sobbed like a baby until our golden died in my hands.

sucked; i just kind of got up and left.

felt numb. just had to act ok in front of the family because it was already sad enough and they could see my puffy face.

nothing worse IMO. the dog who trusts you more than anything, licking your hand as he goes to sleep forever :wah:

fricking hate it.

I prefer bone in if its an option. Season and throw in some herbs in the bag for sous vide. After the sear use a torch and melt some compound butter all over it
all of this sounds spot on.

i'll definitely seal some yumminess in the bag w/ the steaks.

i love a good tarragon steak but i think in this case that would overpower the aged flavor. just want to complement it.

I thought you were a dry aging legend?
we dont need the big guns for a tuesday night steak
planning to pick it out tomorrow; we were perusing the selections today; the butcher recommended the 24 day bone-in.

i like bone in even though its harder to cook evenly close to the bone the sous vide should take care of that.

would you go bone in or boneless? any thoughts or suggestions on the cooking process itself? i plan to sear it on the grill over fire; not on the stove in an iron skillet.
