First, hello. This site is quite the buzz in New Orleans and Baton Rouge right now.

Ill get right to it. Two companies were hired to "trickle down" tidbits of LSU HC search proceedings.

Why was this done?
- It makes it simpler to interview hot candidates
- It allows for smoother transition between candidates
- It prevents violent or otherwise disturbing fan reactions to said hire.

These things are serious, or rather, they CAN be serious.

Anyway, the written "memorandum" of silence date ended today at 1 PM, per my instructor. I am well within my rights to share with you what i know without ANY repurcussions.

To begin, I am a fan. I love the Tigers. I live in New Orleans and I never miss a game if I can help it. This board is always so much fun to read, and yesterday there was so much legitimate news mixed with illegitimate news it damn near sent me over the edge.

Lane was not in Baton Rouge. It was simply a few of his family members in the office with Verge, with Lane on a video call. What was meant to be a simple meet and greet turned into something a little bigger.

I'll bullet point the facts.

- Lane has little to no interest in a ridiculous contract. He was actually sincere and extremely humble, but he absolutely defers to his agent on money matters.

- He wants LSU to be fully on board with him. He wants full range of movement with the portal. He is willing to take less pay to ensure this. And before you lose it, there is bad news. Verge was unable to promise him that. It sucks, but Verge is clearly answering to someone else here.

- I do NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MONEY MATTERS AND CONTRACT STIPULATIONS. I simply don't. I am not able to speculate contract stipulations, liabilities, amounts. I cannot and I will not. Do not ask.

-Kiffin and family love the city. They love the university. Kiffin mentioned jokingly how jealous he was of how loud it is when Ole Miss comes in. They went over schedule by around 30 minutes just swapping football stories .

- Verge was completely up front about LSU courting others heavily and made it known to Lane they are not playing games. They didnt guve him a deadline, but it was heavily implied that LSU isnt willing to ride the bench forever.

LSU has 3 candidates. Lane is and knows he is the top candidate. Verge hasnt spoken with Drinkwitz at Missouri yet. But agents are talking. I can't speculate further, i just dont know.

Dillingham and Verge have spoken face to face 3 times. This was my companies assignment. It was kept extremely quiet and now that the embargo on this info is done, the important part is over. The meetings are all but done, Verge believes he can pull the trigger on Dillingham the second Lane says no, if he says no.

Bottom line is, I wanted to clear up frustrations in the fanbase on my favorite board to pass the time on. Lane is absolutely in contact with Verge, we are past the slog of agent jargon until money comes up.

I dont believe our services will be required by the athletic department for this coaching search again, as everything is pretty much out there at this point. Lane is moving really fast, as he does in fact have a deadline set by the Rebels AD so they can move on Jon Sumrall in worst case.
