re: Dean Martin was the coolest - PetermanFanClub on 1/28/23 at 9:40 pm Dean Martin is certainly one of the greats. But for me, Cary Grant is the coolest.

re: Who is on your Mount Rushmore of living Narrators? - PetermanFanClub on 1/23/23 at 12:25 am Keith David
He has worked on several documentaries. Ken Burns used Keith in Jazz, Mark Twain, The War, Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson, Jackie Robinson and Muhammad Ali.
Great actor too.

re: What's the Best Breed of Dog You've Owned? - PetermanFanClub on 12/15/22 at 7:48 pm It's a boxer for us. Raised our kids with boxers in the house. We prefer females. They are smaller than males (around 50 lbs full grown) and bit more chill (I think). Very very loving, affectionate, loyal, playful and goofy. Only negative is lifespan. Can sometimes be cut short by heart issues and c... Posted on O-T Lounge Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Lots of tix available for the game Sat - PetermanFanClub on 11/25/22 at 11:06 am My son and I are leaving BR and heading to the game. This is our third trip to A&M. My daughters and wife just want to holiday shop so the guys take a road trip. Last time we were there in 2018 we lost in 7 OTs. Burrow was amazing in the loss. 2020 was COVID and we couldn't swing it. A&M fans a... Posted on Tiger Rant Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |

re: I love Tom Petty too, but until I die Florida will “Always” circled. - PetermanFanClub on 10/14/22 at 5:40 am Tom Petty is not overrated. Don't come around here no more with that weak stuff. He is a rock 'n roll legend.
Now let's go crush his Gators.... Posted on Tiger Rant Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/6/22 at 2:42 pm I’d say Trent Dilfer was an average QB at the time of his SB win. He was a Pro Bowler 3 seasons prior with TB. That Baltimore D certainly brought home the championship.... Posted on More Sports Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/6/22 at 12:01 am Statically speaking, Staubach had 7 super seasons and was a starter for 8. Guys like Tittle, Tarkenton, Brees, Favre, Unitas, Manning and Brady played at a high level for more than twice as long as Staubach. Longevity is important on this list. But Staubach’s 8 years rival the best of them.... Posted on More Sports Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/5/22 at 11:33 pm
The first 3 criteria you have are team, not qb, accomplishments. How many QBs worse than Marino won a Super Bowl?
Genius comment. Football is after all a team sport. But I believe the QB is the single most important player on the team. And no garbage QB has ever won a Super Bo... Posted on More Sports Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/4/22 at 1:57 pm Brees has the lowest career yds per completion on the entire Top 40 list that I produced.... Posted on More Sports Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/4/22 at 11:53 am Not bad suggestions. But Mahomes at #28 after only 4 seasons of play is still really fantastic. One more stellar season and he could be Top 20. Maybe the best 4 year span of any QB ever.... Posted on More Sports Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/4/22 at 11:39 am Another thing that separates Rodgers from all others is how few interceptions he throws. In 14 seasons as a starter he has thrown 93 ints. That’s an average of 6.6 per season. Crazy low! Brees threw 243 ints in 19 seasons as a starter. That’s an average of 12.8 per season.... re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/4/22 at 11:17 am Rodgers vs Brees:
Rodgers collected more MVPs (4 vs 0) and 1st Team All-Pros.
He was selected over Brees for the 2010s All Decade Team (voted on by Hall of Fame selection committee)
Brees has more Pro Bowls and more Top 10 rated seasons (15 vs 11).
So, Brees has done it at a high level fo... Posted on More Sports Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/4/22 at 9:41 am Criteria used in this ranking (each was weighted differently to come up with a total):
1. Super Bowl/Championship game appearances
2. Super Bowl/Championship game wins
3. Super Bowl/Championship game MVP awards
4. All-Pro awards (1st and 2nd team)
5. All-Conference
6. Pro Bowl awards

re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/4/22 at 9:18 am Philip Rivers seemed a little low at first (#39). But after a long career, he really only has a bunch of yards, TDs and Pro Bowl appearances to show for it. Still, I’d personally bump him up 3-6 spots.... re: Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/3/22 at 10:12 pm It hurt to see Bradshaw that low. He was my favorite growing up. I still have every football card of his from 1971 to 1984 Topps.
But other than the 4 Super Bowls (which are amazing), Terry didn’t put together the long decorated career of many of his peers. 1 MVP, 1 1st Team All Pro, 3 Pro Bowls... Posted on More Sports Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
Top 40 QBs of All-Time (Part 2) - PetermanFanClub on 3/3/22 at 7:20 pm I'm an NFL history nut. Grew up on NFL Films. 12 months ago I posted my list of Top 30 QBs of All-Time. I've since added another year of data (2021) and made some slight tweaks to my model. I used 20 different measures/stats to try and objectively rank the greatest QB careers of all time. Admitted... re: List of potential candidates - PetermanFanClub on 10/18/21 at 12:07 am I like Gundy. Why is he listed under "too much baggage?" Averages 9 wins a season for the past 15 years at Okie State. Damn impressive. Consistently has an explosive offense.... Posted on Coaching Changes Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
