I think LSU is till for real but playing in Athens just hit them unaware. Also the first outdoor match of the year after the indoor championships. Plus being #5 puts a big target on the back. The way the tennis rankings work a big ranked win is worth a lot. Like UGA will now jump from 33 to #13 just because of that win.
Yeah the only rule is you can't directly yell at players in the middle of points.

Of course people kind of scurry around the rules by shouting for another player on another court in the middle of a point.
Go to a college tennis match sometime. It's not quiet at all. There's six matches going on at once and players get very vocal.
to start SEC play. Lost 4-0 to #33 Georgia. Athens is probably the toughest place to play college tennis, with the largest-capacity stands. LSU has a target on their back now with the lofty #5 ranking.

UGA came out on fire and won doubles and then won three quick, straight-set matches on courts 4-6 to clinch the upset win.

Doubles

1. #64 Arda Azkara/Santiago Giamichelle (UGA) def. Sasa Markovic/Andrej Loncarevic (LSU) 6-4
2. Will Jansen/Gabriele Vulpitta (UGA) def. #63 Matias Ponce De Leon/Erik Arutiunian (LSU) 6-1
3. Derrick Chen/Noah Johnston (UGA) vs. Enzo Kohlmann/Olaf Pieczkowski (LSU) 5-6 unfinished

Singles

1: #42 Arda Azkara (UGA) vs. Olaf Pieczkowski (LSU) 7-5, 2-3 unfinished
2: #30 Will Jansen (UGA) vs. #53 Erik Arutiunian (LSU) 3-6, 4-3 unfinished
3: #60 Santiago Giamichelle (UGA) vs. #102 Andrej Loncarevic (LSU) 4-6, 3-3 unfinished
4: Derrick Chen (UGA) def. Enzo Kohlmann (LSU) 6-3, 6-2
5: Noah Johnston (UGA) def. Sasa Markovic (LSU) 6-1, 6-2
6: #77 Gabriele Vulpitta (UGA) def. Matias Ponce De Leon (LSU) 6-2, 6-4
It's been an Indiana football like turnaround in one season. Y'all have been last in the SEC the last few years and barely top 75 and now all of sudden top 5.

Signed two really good players to be at the top of the lineup and everyone else has improved as well
Yep. I tell people this all the time. If you've never been check it out. It's not the stuffy atmosphere of pro tennis. The players get fiery and you can get into it as the crowd. Six matches going on at once during singles so there's constant action
Yeah it’s just a different world in college tennis. Lots of teams have international players. Texas and Miss State are also mainly international.

#5 in mens. Would’ve been #3 but Texas had to go and upset Ohio State in the ita indoors final.

Texas is #3 despite winning the ita national indoors and beating Ohio State in the final. Largely thanks to a slow start to the year before that run

Kind of an unexpected run to the title for Texas. They were injured snd lost 3 matches (all to top teams) before this. But the pieces all came together quicker than expected
Texas takes doubles point. Epic doubles point with all 3 courts going to a tiebreak.

Texas wins on courts 2 and 3

They are in the doubles point right now. ohio state going for their 4th indoor title while Texas going for their first.

You’re gonna be the absolute worst team in the SEC if you rely on Louisiana for tennis recruits
the first computer rankings of the year come out this week for men's tennis. The rankings that will be used for the rest of the year.

LSU will be VERY high in them. Likely the highest of any SEC team (unless Texas beats Ohio State in the national indoor final tonight).

The Tigers are 9-1 with wins over top 20 teams Clemson, Pepperdine, Arizona, Texas A&M and UCF. Only loss is to top 5 TCU.

SEC play starts already this coming weekend. I will post how the SEC shapes up in these rankings when they are released either tomorrow or Thursday
Every team is guaranteed 3 matches. So the 0-2 teams play the 0-2 teams in the last match.

Like A&M lost to LSU so now they will play UC-Santa Barbara who is also 0-2.

Yeah the NCAA championships are outdoor in May. This is the indoor national championships, run by the ITA (college tennis governing body).

The results still mean a lot for rankings for the season moving forward before SEC play starts next week
It is main draw and back draw . So LSU lost to TCU and went to the back draw where they beat A&M.

Now LSU plays UCF in the next round who also lost in R1 and won their back draw match.
coming down a 3rd set on court #2.

Lost on courts 1 and 3 but won on 4-6

Vs A&M today in the back draw. Aggies won doubles. Olaf is back in the lineup
