re: Oil over $30 the most obvious short ever? - Lgrnwd
Not at $30, over $30. Actually mid to upper $30’s would be ideal. Oil was due for a bear market rally. But demand for oil is going to remain painfully low for quite a while and the price war is not going anywhere anytime soon. And mid to upper 30’s will start to hit Fib retracement level...

re: Where did the morning rally go? - Lgrnwd
If it gets back up to 2600 shorts are going to be sweating. It gets above 2650 and shorts will be scrambling to cover. And there a LOT of shorts out there right now. I really think that needs to be worked out of the market before we test lows again. Not enough people have been suckered i...

re: Vehicle financing at 0% - Lgrnwd
Agreed. Do not take that deal. Car dealers are going to be hurting big with all that is going on. Buyers have all the leverage right now. Play hardball. If he doesn’t budge you should be able to find a dealer who will in the near future. ...

re: Where did the morning rally go? - Lgrnwd
Yes. Oil got ahead of itself this morning. It was dying for some type of “good news”, and when it got it oil bulls got a little too rambunctious. People jumped at the chance to take some big quick profits, and that’s what we have seen since this morning. Whether or not this oil rally has mo...

re: 6.6 million jobless claims, market shrugs - Lgrnwd
There was near record level short positions in the market this week. If the market doesn’t turn back down soon you will see some serious short covering. That will provide rocket fuel for the next rally. ...

re: 6.6m new jobless claims last week - Lgrnwd
The years following the 2008-2009 financial crisis, the market loved when bad economic data was released, because it meant more stimulus coming. I was just getting into trading at the time and got burned a few times trying to short the market, because “logically” it SHOULD have went down. ...

re: 6.6m new jobless claims last week - Lgrnwd
Futures were up big, then dropped to flat after Jobless claims release. Oil is up big right now, so that is offsetting the affect of the jobless claim number. ...

re: Today’s “big” down day feels different - Lgrnwd
I don’t have an answer for that. But if there is one area of the market over due for some type of “good news”, it’s oil. And it will respond significantly and quickly. ...
I know oil is way down. Marathon Oil is at 3.10, which is the lowest it has been all year. Thinking about getting into it today.
Oil has been mostly flat the last 3 days. It was even posting a small gain for a while today, despite the market being down a lot. At some point ...
