re: So why did the Browns draft Shadeur?
Posted by Kinderman on 11/10/25 at 12:16 pm to crimsoncoded94
With how bad the Browns are, how miserable their fans are, and how uninspiring Gabriel is, I’m kind of surprised they haven’t just thrown Sanders out there to generate some energy.

I’m not a style aficionado or anything, but not a super flattering dress, I have to say.
“X lost tonight, don’t want him”

So many of these posts the last two weeks. Coaches lose. It happens. It doesn’t mean they’re bad.
What happens when Kiffin inevitably loses again? Is he out?
Way too much knee-jerk on here.

Jim Mora Jr. with a sneaky good coaching job this season
Posted by Kinderman on 11/8/25 at 6:15 pm
UConn beat Duke today (who’s 4-1 in the ACC) to move to 7-3 on the season. Also starting to fill the stadium up there for the first time in a LONG time.
Good stuff from Baby Mora.

2 shy of the NBA record for points in a quarter.
They’re also missing Tyler Herro.

Fisch probably leaving UW, family “hates Seattle”

Per Grant Hughes of 247 Sports, Fisch could have an interest in becoming the next head coach of the Bruins. Fisch appears to be looking for an exit plan from Washington because his family doesn't enjoy The Emerald City. Fisch's wife moved back to Arizona.
quote:
Fisch has been connected to job openings at Florida and UCLA this year. As an alumnus of Florida, Fisch has strong ties to the SEC program. Following his graduation, he worked as a graduate assistant for the Gators under then-head coach Steve Spurrier in 1999 and 2000.

He seems destined for UCLA.
re: First Time HCs in College Football
Posted by Kinderman on 11/7/25 at 10:48 am to ibleedprplngld
You've also got Marcus Freeman as a first time HC taking his team to a NCG, Kalani Sitake having BYU at 8-0 as a first time HC, and guys like Brent Key, Joey McGuire and Clark Lea as first time HCs resurrecting their programs from the dead. This is a different era of CFB, you need hungry guys who can recruit their asses off and correctly spend their NIL money more than someone with 100 years of HC experience.
re: Sydney Sweeney refuses to apologize for “controversial” ad

Here comes the outrage!

“Presuming that you are not a white supremacist, at least say how horrified you were by how this campaign was amplified and celebrated by unrepentant racists who believe in eugenics,” British photographer Misan Harriman wrote on Instagram, sharing a clip from the GQ interview.
“At least recognize the harm your jeans campaign has caused Black folk,” he continued, “the undertone of the campaign is that your genetics are superior to others, the play on words is clear as day and racists LOVED it!”
quote:
After Sweeney addressed the backlash in her GQ cover story, “White Lotus” actress Aimee Lou Wood was one of the many to chime in on the matter, commenting a barfing emoji on Harriman’s Instagram reel. Others went so far as to accuse the actress of pandering to “bigots” and being “unapologetically pro-white.”
“Now I understand why people hate her,” one X user wrote.
quote:
It’s kinda crazy that the most famous actress and the biggest sex symbol on the planet is unapologetically pro-white
quote:
sydney sweeney is such a fricking loser. and i hate to say that about someone who i used to believe had the potential to be great. but she’s proved that she would rather pander to bigots than make good art! that’s so lame!!!

Sydney Sweeney refuses to apologize for “controversial” ad

Stoeffel: I mean, Trump tweeted about the jeans ad ... that just seems like a very crazy moment...
Sweeney: It was surreal.
Stoeffel: The risk is that there's a chance that somebody will get some idea about what you think about certain issues ... Do you worry about that?
Sweeney: No.
Stoeffel: The criticisms were that maybe white people shouldn't joke about genetic superiority ... I just wanted to allow you to talk about that specifically.
Sweeney: I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.

Is there a verified report somewhere that he actually hit a woman? Or just that random X post? I can't find anything about that.
Jake Paul rips into Tank Davis over cancelled exhibition fight
Posted by Kinderman on 11/6/25 at 8:50 am
Interesting since Tank already had domestic violence allegations when the fight was made, so his new shite should've come as no surprise. And Paul has also had previous sexual assault allegations. So...weird stuff, this.

Jake Paul tore into Gervonta "Tank" Davis after their exhibition fight was canceled on Monday, Nov. 3 with Davis facing allegations of attacking a woman last week.
“Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage,’’ Paul wrote on his X account. “Working with him is an absolute nightmare. The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations and lawsuits. If you support this man you support the most vile sin a man can commit.’’
Paul's tirade against Davis, the 30-year-old WBA world lightweight champion, continued.
“I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and to grow his bank account,’’ he wrote. “My company champions women. I’m so sorry to everyone involved. Mostly to the undercard fighters, to my team at MVP and to my team who worked so hard prepping for this fight. Sacrificing time with loved ones and kids just for this fool to lose his unintelligent mind again. It’s scary that devilish men like this can rise to the top of culture and sports, including in positions of power.’’
And finally, Paul wrote, “I hope you people moving forward look beyond his fake streetwear pieces ‘SWAG’ and search for something deeper to be a fan of. As for me it’s on to the next one as always. Anyone. Anytime. Any place.’’

That's excellent casting.
But does the new gen pay to go see movies in theaters because they follow someone on IG or TikTok? Honest question because I absolutely don't know. It seems like a lot of the young, Gen Z social media superstars aren't really blowing up the box office either.
Clooney tells young actors to get off of social media
Posted by Kinderman on 11/5/25 at 7:36 am
He'll probably get labeled as "old man yells at clouds" by some, but I do think this is solid advice.
LINK
quote:
During the latest episode of The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast, the Oscar-winning actor claimed casting directors and studio executives have asked him to select artists for his film projects based on their online following.
"When I was directing and I was casting, and it was between two actors, the casting director and the studio would come to me and go, 'Well, she's got 175,000 followers on Instagram, and the other girl's got 30,000.' Those were literally the discussions we had," he stated. "And I said to all these actors, 'Get the frick off of it. Get off of all of it. Because if you're not on it, you have nothing to be compared to.'"
quote:
Clooney went on to note that he understands why actors are tempted to "monetise" social media to pursue other projects.
However, the Ocean's Eleven star argued that having a platform on sites like Instagram and Facebook won't benefit people's acting careers in the long run.
"But trying to maintain a career and answer all of the questions that every individual has for you, it's diminishing your ability to be bigger than life. It's inevitable, and I'm sort of swimming upstream, and I don't think that there's much you can do about it, but I do think it's better to not be as available," the 64-year-old continued.

Marshall unveils special helmets to honor plane crash victims

They do this every year, but this year’s version might be my favorite.
Honoring the 75 lives lost in the 1970 plane crash. They’ll wear them during their game this week against James Madison.
