I remember it started with the Georgia series. LSU was behind in either game 1 or 2 and managed to tie it. THEN, they went on a 23-0 run with their first loss in the CWS against UNC.

Lost game one of the super to UC Irvine. Bush league mfs. Except left fielder Dillon Bell, he was a scholar.

This is correct, almost. Came back to tie UGA in game three, curfew rule made it end in a tie. We were 6-11-1 in the SEC at that point. Then we won 2 midweek games that week and won 21 more after that until game 1 of the super regional against UC Irvine. Then we came back from 5 down in the 8th inning against Irvine in game 2, destroyed then in game three to advance to Omaha.

Coming back to tie UGA, who would end up being national runner-up in 08, was kinda the start of that run.

That's right. 1st loss to end the 23 game winning streak was against UC-Irvine in game 1 of the Super Regionals. Was that the game where UCI pulled that stupid arse hidden ball trick and the umpire erroneously called the LSU baserunner at 2nd base out, prompting Javy Lopez explode in anger at the 2nd base ump?

2 of my all time favorite games at the Box. That game 2 comeback was magic, and the momentum for game 3 was just crushing.

I honestly cant think of a better chew out the ump at lsu than javy with the sprint out to short; and the hat throw at the umps feet.
