I'm always sad when they're over and its not just the games. It's a metaphor for time passing and all it implies. I lost my mother since the las Olympics and I wonder what changes will take place before the next Olympics. When you're young abd even into your twenties and thirties time seems like an endless road in front of you. Eventually you become keenly; aware there's an end to it. How many more Olympics do I have? Two? Three? None?

Sorry about your mother.
None of us are assured of tomorrow. We'll just have to live and enjoy each day and hopefully Milan, LA, and many more are to come.

I always get the blues when the Summer Olympics end - but then football is starting, so that definitely helps.

It's not quite so bad with the winter olmpics a year and a half away but then it's two and ahalf years until the next summer games. At least they're staggered now.

It's always weird too, in terms of life.
My son will be about to start driving when the next one rolls around.
My parents, God-willing, will be in their late 70s.
Fun memories surrounding the Olympics.
