No I agree with you, but the idiot Frenchys wanted those first 16 years to count more by the sound of their booing. Wemby now has lived in the USA since he was 18 and he’s also a citizen (duel like Embid) see my point. Had Embid played for his birth/childhood country hey that’s fine. He is actually a citizen of BOTH countries just like Wemby. No clue what Mondo’s deal was but he’s a duel citizen of USA and Sweden but in the end who cares. Remember the Elway's and Eli Manning’s of the world when they took their balls and went home.

I want to say they had the same situation in 2020 and they decided to take the gold and instead of doing it again 4 years later, they cat from the US said let’s do it outright this time.

The total medal count is what matters to me but to each his own.
One way I like looking at this is per capita like many on here do for NFL players from La.
if you use the Top 5… ie > 15 Gold and >40 total, medals per capita belongs to Australia, which is kind of a cool way to look at it.
China has 1.4 Billion citizens to USAs 333 million to Australia’s 26 million.

From what I’ve read, he promised France he was gonna play for them that’s why they granted him citizenship. Then a year later he Decided to play for the USA.

This isn't against Mondo, he can do what he wants, I just find it a bit silly for someone who has never lived in Sweden to suddenly compete for them. But by all accounts, they were willing to pay him more money to win them a gold.

I think you know what I meant. I know he has citizenship since birth. The point is he has lived here his entire life. If he was back and forth, and lived there till 18 then moved here, it would be entirely different. Again, I don't really care that much. I just find it a bit silly for someone to compete for a country they never lived in.
