There is no if...he never came out and said he isnt taking the lsu job :) Vegas said we were 10pt underdogs amd lsu lost by 11. Trust Vegas not Kakashi. Sabans the coach

They also had Arch, Klubnik, Nuss, Sellers, and Allar as Heisman favorites
False. He's letting his lawyers run this whole thing just like he was letting Joe Sloan run the offense.
Agreed. Are you just trying to say what LSU is doing is wrong? I think most people would agree with you
Not sure what you are trying to prove. We know that LSU hasn’t formally fired BK because they are looking for a reason to fire him for cause.

I do and I’d bet others do too

So much gold in this thread. This saga will give us some truly breathtaking legal takes.

I’m not referring to “filing their answer” as their response to the law suit. I’m referring to them stating why they are firing him with cause, we they should have already done by now.

When lsu files their answer, there will be another story.

So why hasn’t LSU filed their answer yet? They are claiming the have information that is grounds to fire BK with cause but are refusing to actually do it. What are they waiting on?

Be more specific in your question I guess

Hardly the “taxpayers footing the bill”.

I didn't claim taxpayers would foot the bill. You asked when a single taxpayer cent has gone towards LSU athletics so I provided an example.

When is the last time a single tax payer cent went towards LSU athletics?

quote:

Landry signed House Bill 639 raising the state’s online sports betting tax rate from 15% to 21.5%. The law, which will go into effect on Aug. 1, mandates 25% of the tax revenue from sports wagering to be allocated toward a new fund. The fund, the Supporting Programs, Opportunities, Resources and Teams Fund (SPORT Fund), supports student-athletes at public NCAA Division 1 programs in the state. The institutions receiving a portion of the proceeds include LSU, Louisiana Tech and McNeese State.

Under the law, the tax revenue will be distributed to 11 college athletic departments by the Board of Regents, with the tax revenue used for a variety of men’s and women’s sports.

The tax revenue will be used to support scholarships, insurance and medical coverage and facility upgrades. HB 639 prohibits the tax revenue to be used for NIL payments to student-athletes despite a federal judge recently signing an order allowing schools to pay athletes.

And while he may get $35 mil or whatever it is, he’ll always be remembered for this stain. 15 years from now, this will be what people will remember him as.

Maybe for LSU fans. The rest of the country isn't on LSU's side in this situation.

I would be shocked if he got another head coaching job at least at a Power 4.

Plenty of Power 4 schools would hire BK.
This is like when people get on here mid August and say “LSU will be favored in all but one game this season!”
I agree with all of that. I’m not sure why you responded to me saying I lack reading comprehension. All I did was post a section of his contract.
quote:

LSU hasn’t taken a position. Kelly filed the lawsuit. All they did was ask him to settle, which is not unreasonable. They are still paying him.

Apparently yesterday they let him know that they are planning to fire him with cause. Kelly filed the lawsuit because LSU fired him without technically firing him so they have time to try to find a reason to fire him with cause.

You have terrible reading comprehension and have proven it several times. LSU did not, and still has not, claimed cause.

So what does this mean?
quote:

According to a copy of the suit obtained by ESPN, "LSU's representatives had a call with Coach Kelly's representatives, where LSU took the position that Coach Kelly had not been formally terminated and informed Coach Kelly's representatives, for the very first time, that LSU believed grounds for termination for cause existed."

Attorney for previous coaches weighs in

LSU has the duty to inform Kelly 7 days prior to the effective termination date in the case of for cause termination. There is no effective termination date of the contract yet, so how can it be after the fact?

I believe that is what this whole suit is about. LSU is delaying his formal termination so they can search for cause when in reality they should have already terminated him.

It almost makes me wonder if the "donor" is getting cold feet for putting up the money. Originally LSU was "It's not a problem, we will pay his buyout." Now they are trying to wiggle out of it all together.

Same. It’s easy to say “yeah I’ve got $10 million towards the buyout” after 5 drinks in a suite during the game. Might have felt a little different the next morning.
