re: So what happened in the 6 hours?

Choosing to come on a Monday afternoon probably means they spent a good amount of time stuck in traffic.
I’m sure that rush hour trip through BR from LSU to the airport made a lasting impression on them

I thought the deadline involved him not coaching the egg bowl and beyond?
Fantastic thread title

Because of this:
frick that. I would let them fire me.
quote:
As of December 1, 2025, if Ole Miss decides to fire Kiffin without cause, he is set to get a $36.6 million buyout, which is the 15th-largest buyout in college football, according to USA TODAY. His contract also contains no mitigation clause, and so any future earnings would not reduce the amount owed to him.

Meanwhile, if Kiffin chooses to leave Ole Miss on his own, the buyout payments owed to the university by his next employer would be structured as follows: $3 million after this season, $2 million following the 2026 season, and $1.5 million in subsequent years.
frick that. I would let them fire me.
To seal the deal, looks like LSU has an ace up their sleeve with the location of this

Just 1.4 miles away from the football ops building

re: Update for 11/17/25 Added update Kiffin to sign contract with LSU 5:02 p.m. Deal done

So who is on the short list to replace Lane at Ole Miss after he leaves?

Ed O back to Oxford?

According to the data, he is a much better offensive coach than Lane is

If you get Lane kiffin you will almost be guaranteed a top 10 if not top five offense in the country. That alone has a huge appeal to it
You can get that with Eric Morris for a whole lot cheaper

They are to this show what Sheridan sliding horses was to Yellowstone.
They are simply a time filler.
Simple and easy way in each episode for him to eat up minutes
