Such injuries aren't trivial. I broke an index finger two years ago trying to peel an obstinately thick-rinded naval ORANGE! Extremely painful -- had to go to urgent care for a splint; effectively out of action 2-3 weeks.

Noticed a camera shot of DC6 praying for him on the bench. Man, I'm gonna miss that kid.

Me too man such a great kid and family. His mom treats my daughter so good and lets her sit with her and watch some of the game. It is a relationship i hope continues even after he is gone because they are special to my kiddo. Me and his brother have gotten to be good friends over the season

Some things aren’t like they used to be. Broke a tooth on a chicken tender. It happens. Hope Serny can heal for the cape!

Thats what blows my mind about his idiocrasy. Kid could have tore the end of a finger off or something with the way his hand went under the cleat and the catchers foot turned on it

As a guy that caught at a high level 20 years ago, yes we play through a lot. But only if it benefits the team. If it was jammed or fractured, he can play through it during post season. If it was actually out of his skin, the chance of infection and nerve damage paired with the fact we suck, he shouldn’t play.

You’re also getting down voted because you are acting like you’re some super human and disrespecting an absolute young stud that wanted to wear purple and gold and represent LSU. Talked to your “back in my day” buddies about this. Don’t disrespect or downplay an injury of a LSU player on an LSU board.

Not speaking on anything about Serna's injury but I can say watching him back in High School he's a beast!

I don't agree with everything FireawayLSU said but their is some truth to what he said about sports in general. I have no doubt Serna would be playing if he could help the team with the injury he has, which is just speculation at this point, unless i missed an update.

But every sport over the years has made the games softer adding new rules. But none of this concers Serna's finger
