Why don’t they run in lane one?

They are running the 400m relay heats right now. They don’t run in lane one. Is it because it has too much curve, messing up their stride?

It’s the least desired lane for a relay. They have so many prelims so no need to fill them all. They’ll have a team in it for the finals

Yes if you can get away with not using it, the better. Curve is tighter. Able to tighten up distance in stagger also.
