Great job on the post, Baw. I don’t see how anyone could downvote this.
Thanks, had to summarize because it was so much and way too long., but a lot of cool info.

That’s very interesting. Cool post.
We may not be great this year but even if we’re a middle of the road team that’s still a big step forward. As a fan (and I don’t think I’m alone here ) all I wanna see is an organization that seems to care about winning and strives to make the team better. It’ll take some smart drafting , some very strategic free agency moves, and time. We all know there’s no overnight fix but I think we’re making big steps in the right direction. Last year I had zero excitement going into the season and this year I’m very excited even with tempered expectations.

I imagine they’ll still be cautious spending, but I wonder if the season starts well if they’d trade for a DE or corner to see if we can make a run

If this draft turns into another top draft in the league perhaps they feel comfortable going for another good restock in next years. If we do have yet another great draft they better bar the doors of the Scouting dept because the rich billionaires will be coming for them.

First, this is great stuff and good food for thought. Thanks for taking the time to pull together and post.
There a bunch of interesting points, but this may have been the most intriguing to me:
"If Tyler Shough is a top 10 QB and improves from their expectations, we all of a sudden become the #6 offense and super bowl contenders. We no longer need a #1 WR, Our RB becomes a top 5 group and our OL improves."
Having been a fan through the Brees years and just watching football, this statement tracks with what I feel like my eyes tell me, which is that it is sooo much easier to be good if you have very good-excellent QB play. I have no idea how much Shough will improve, but I suspect he will, and I love that he will get to operate with more weapons this year.

Also think it shouldn’t go unsaid how big him being here all offseason will be for him
