Salviati's post is unproductive because he's missing the bigger picture. Even if most blacks aren't violent, there's still a larger than expected percentage that are.
I appreciate your willingness to address the reality of the situation here and I am happy that there are many in the black community who are just as sick of this shite as everyone else. The amount of black parents that are burying their sons and daughters everyday in this country from ridiculous acts of gang and other senseless violence is sickening. Honestly, change in the black community is going to have to come from the inside out. It's going to change when, imo, black men stand up in high enough numbers and say enough is enough. Until then, I fear not much is going to change culturally.

From what I understand, Lafayette police need more training. One of them fired into a crowd. That s pretty reckless. Bad enough you have scum firing , but trained guys firing into a crowd is very risky.

I live in a suburb of Montgomery. Families are fleeing Montgomery for places like mine. Including the folks you speak of that come to towns like mine to “get our kids outta that mess”. And yet when trouble follows them from Montgomery, they do the same damn things. We had a home on our nice quiet block get drive-by’d last year. When the police investigated, miraculously, no one had seen or heard anything . No suspects were identified. No cooperation with police.
In other words, in addition to trouble, they brought Don’t Snitch with them. Now no one wants them here.
