Very well said.
I believe the final straw was when Cortana mall closed. I wish there would’ve been a way to keep it open. We could’ve kept the culture on that side of town.
That’s what I felt like all of Louisiana started to go down

Just wondering why you would need to.

I only go into Costco
Refuse to go anywhere else

I’ll still go because why would I let that particular demographic determine what and when and where I do things? People in BR give up way too easy. They’ve been practically salivating at the idea of the Mall closing so they can place blame. It means more to them to be able to say their fear and avoidance was justified than it does to have a nice city. It’s never a mentality of let me go support and bring people with me to help make sure this place stays nice and feels like one of OUR spaces. It’s a really shitty and defeatist mentality around here and nothing will change as long as it persists.

This is perfect and so true. It's why Baker and eventually Zachary will fall. Middle class white and black people tuck tail and run and do not stand their ground.
They allow thugs to push them out of their favorite stores, homes, tailgates, etc
They run and hide too easily. Instead of talking to elected officials, police, representatives, etc.
It's just the French influence. Complain and do nothing.

I rarely go to malls but I remember having to drop a ring off for sizing at a jewelry store in MOL on Christmas eve about 10 years ago. Driving into the parking lot there was plenty of evidence of ratchet behavior. Loud rap music, ratchet looking basketball Americans all over. I don't carry often but I decided to put a 38 snub in my pocket. So glad I don't live in BR.

I'm definitely not willing to risk my life shopping for a toaster at Williams Sonoma.
No worries. Didn’t Williams Sonoma leave the mall a few years back?
The most we have done in the mall in the last decade is a quick trip in and out of Macy’s or Dilliards. Is there anywhere else inside worth going?

That ship has sailed. Time for a drastic turnabout. Build a massive prison and incarcerate them for as long as possible by electing tough DAd and judges.
I would do more but it would run afoul of cruel and unusual punishment.

It will be the next Amazon shipping center or Angola South.

Dem run cities that let thugs run wild will continue downward spiral. The paying customers will go elsewhere. To many safer options these days. These cities would rather blame the police then get these thugs off the street for good. Sad times.

It’s cooked for sure. However it needs to stay open to try and keep the problems contained to it so they don’t spread to the few nice things BR still has and especially to keep it contained so it doesn’t spread to the rest of the metro area.

What does "important diversity" post-1950s have to do with the ancestors or slaves from centuries prior?
A bit of conflation going on

This is what happens when Progressives "Win".
Things are going to get worse before they get better. If Jeff Landry is the only person in leadership right now willing to do anything, then nothing will get done. Democrats will see to it their foot soldiers keep killing us while Republicans are scared to be called mean names. The politicians are getting rich and they have armed security. They don't care if you and yours are getting killed.

Mall of Louisiana's future
People like me, who have a disposable income, will likely think twice about stepping foot into the Mall of Louisiana. For me, it has been years since I have gone and shopped. The only time I have been is when I went directly into Sunglass Hut upstairs to pickup a pair of sunglasses I had purchased for my daughter.
I’ll just order online, have it delivered in a day or two, and return anything I don’t like for free.
It’s simply the better option — safer, more convenient, and I don’t have to worry about getting shot or dealing with a mall full of unsupervised kids whose mama treats the place like a babysitter.
