US Women's Swim go 2-3 in the 200 IM. Douglass and Walsh.
ETA: only the silver. Walsh disqualified for going past vertical on the back-breast turn. Wow - that was her only event of the meet.

Not to sound like one of “them” but another gold snatched away at the last second.

Titmus vs. Ledecky now in the 800m free. Barring disaster, this should be between only those two with Ledecky as a favorite by about 3-4 seconds.
400m update: Titmus ais now the favorite to beat Ledecky. This is danger zone.
Great 500-650 mark! Madden up to 3rd. 1-3 possible!! Titmus fading.
Official: USA Women's Swim 800m free goes 1-3. Ledecky wins the 800m free for the 4th consectutive Olympics! Great swim from Madden - from Mobile AL.

It would be on point for this Olympics for Ledecky to lose this lead at the end, feels like she’s pulling away tho

Mixed 400m medley relay. USA a small favorite. Margin of favorites in nil as relay exchanges can gobble that up.
At the 200 mark, USA in good shape.
USA leading at 350.
USA WINS! Out touches China by .12 seconds.

I noticed when I watched a match the other day that because of the heat there they’re doing breaks in play to rehydrate. I wondered it that would contribute to overage time.

Okay...
Because it just finished and the whistle finally came just before 20 minutes. Never seen basically half of another half of added time in soccer.

I haven’t either. Not without some significant serious injury stoppage.
Just wondered if it was maybe that.

Total medals should not count for "first place". Thats gay af. it should be the system where:
Gold = 3 pts Silver = 2 pts Bronze = 1 point
Either way US would be dominating your point system with 61 medals

With Finke's gold medal swim, US is 1 gold medal back from China with a ton of track left to go.

And USA ties Australia for most gold medals in swimming this Olympiad in a "down year." USA has a large lead for overall medals as well.
