Take the Italian Americans. These people were considered Colored People by Pre World War One America. Then these "Colored People" proved themselves by fighting in combat for the USA. Then, during World War Two, Italian Americans distinguished themselves even more in the US military forces fighting against the Axis Powers.
Even before WWII the Italian immigrants demanded that their children become Americanized. Baseball was the national sport in the 1920s and 30s. Italians played soccer. But they demanded that their children play baseball so they could be real Americans. A LOT of those Italian kids became major league players.

When an Indian baby is born the first words he's taught is not Momma and Daddie. It's 'I tell you what I will do...'
I don't know anything about R.I. But I knew a couple of profs from Brown back in the 1980s. They were very proud to admit to me that they were Marxists. And they didn't mind sharing it with their students. It's probably worse with profs over there today.

I missed that. When did Trump issue that executive order?

The only purpose of the govt is to protect individual freedom/property. All else should be determined by free market decisions.
The military protects your freedom. Govt is OK.
Poverty is the free market result of your bad decisions. Govt is not OK to steal the property of others to fix it.
All crimes are property crimes. Your body is your property. Rape and Murder are therefore property crimes.
I could do 10 pages more but I'm watching the Army-Navy game.

The key to determining whether an assertion is fact or fiction requires Critical Thinking. Now which people have sharper Critical Thinking skills? The left or the right?
re: The reality of Slavery in the US vs everywhere else

Everyone owned slaves. Slavery was normal. The US did not invent it or decide on it, it was the norm.
American slavery varied a lot by religion and region. In the 17th century most people lived in large lots (by our standards) around small towns. Visualize a house and small barn surrounded by 10-50 acres of land. The owner could work the land with his sons and no slaves. He might find one poorer white worker to help out for pay. But Virginia broke the mold with richer people getting grants of 500 or more acres and they bought slaves. So, the slave dependency difference between North and South started before the American Revolution, much less than before the Civil War.
re: Why can’t Russia just have Eastern Ukraine? It’s not even really “Ukrainian”
Posted by Zach on 12/12/25 at 12:06 pm to _Hurricane_
Putin is not stupid. He realizes that Ukraine was a mistake. But he's obsessed with his place in history and doesn't want to be labeled a LOSER. That's why he would accept the Trump compromise on some territory and it would not motivate him to continue invading more countries.

I think White and Asian kids discover this when a 36 ACT and 4.0 GPA won't get them into Ivy League colleges.
The Russians spent 10 years and tons of money trying to conquer Afghanistan. When it failed an Afghan writer explained why: "If you bombed Afghanistan for 10 years and you took pictures. Then the country had 10 years of peace and you took pictures. The pictures would look the same.

The Greeks and Romans had an advantage over the Americans. Some of their slaves were intellectuals of the conquered nation. So they put them in charge of teaching their children. A lot of their leaders were taught by slaves. We couldn't do that with Africans.

HOAs are simply an example of what happens to people who are given power over other people. It's like a drug. They always need more power.

Carmen Jaycee just put out a video and says her ghetto accent is fake and designed to sway dumb black female voters. She might be right. BTW, Carmen also says that women should not hold public office at all. It's around the 5 minute mark.

The Congress is very different. In 1989 the Republicans were farther left than they are now while the Dems were farther right than they are now. A lot more people voted for the party they were not registered with.
In one of her speeches she blamed Republicans for crime. How? They refuse to ban guns. This will get her the criminals' vote. A gun ban would make their jobs a lot safer.
I don't understand a husband enjoying enslaving his wife. A happy marriage involves a couple who are close in age and close in I.Q. Nabokov's Lolita explains this.

That would make my dad a Jew. He wasn't. When his parents got married the Catholic dad demanded the children be raised as Catholics. Jewish mom said 'Fine with me.' That happens with a lot of mixed marriages. The result is fewer Jews.
