And it is the opinion of almost all economists the main reason inflation spiked in 2021, 2022 & 2023 was the result of trillions of dollars in COVID relief/stimulus free money injected into our economy as passed by congress and signed into law by President Trump in 2020.

That was the action that Powell called “transitory” when he referred to the “uptick” in inflation.

I’m not defending anybody. I’m just pointing out your post about Biden making Powell Fed Chair was deceptive if not dishonest. As usual.

Edit: It was Janet Yellen, Fed Chair prior to Powell, who said “inflation is transitory” in 2021 when she was Secretary of the Treasury.

Powell never said “inflation is transitory.”

He was asked a question about Trump’s tariffs effect on inflation in March of this year and he said he thought the tariffs would have a transitory effect on inflation.

You can’t get even simple facts straight.
