I stopped caring about Commiefornia years ago.

My only concern is that as it gets worse, blue voters are going to flee to conservative states and wreck those too.

Unfortunately for the socialist.
Even rich liberals dont like being taxed to death and the choked by bureaucracy.
California will burn and hopefully the conservative part will rise from the ashes.
These leftist politicians are like 5 grade class president elections.
We will have extra recess, no homework and ice cream for lunch.....

We may get to see New York City and the entire State of California collapse in our lifetimes.

California is going to run out of other people's money to pay for all the social programs they keep promising.

They're already seeing billionaires and big businesses relocate to lower tax states. And they keep promising more handouts that someone is going to have to pay for. Next is to raise the middle class taxes to make up for the lost revenue from the rich people fleeing.

I agree. But political promises don't have to be "possible." They just need to attractive enough to the voter to garner their vote.

This reminds me of an old Earl Long story - while running for Governor he promised a farmer that he would pave the road in front of his house. A few years after he's elected the farmer shows up at the Governor's office demanding to know when his road was going get paved and insisting on waiting in the lobby while some staffer when to present the question to the Governor.

Earl Long's response was "tell him I lied."

I think one just hopes that we see these policies play out on the state level to serve as a warning to the rest of the country as to why those policies don't work. Ideally, yes, they would never be instituted anywhere at all but at least we can point to non-theoretical examples of why it doesn't work.

That’s what George Will said about Mamdani.

Ain’t nothin new about that playbook.

If she wins there will be a lot more companies leaving California because the only way she could pay for that is to raise taxes on the wealthy.

You do realize there are a good amount of Conservatives living in California. You can say frick California cause you don’t live here, but would be the first to be upset if somebody said frick New Orleans and Louisiana. California has many issues but you can’t beat the weather.
